"Don't expect a big leap forward just yet, but this has the makings of a season when, viewed in retrospect, LMU's return to glory took its first steps."
I am just going to keep saying this to my self all season and im not going to get upset...
start given over JD until JD shoots about 50,000 jumpers in the gym...He deserves to be Given a chance to start....hes a god damn 90 recruit!

1 for 11. 5 turnovers. 1 assist. Drew one foul. Wow. Lots of the guys had good games today.

I just took a look at the play by play for last 2:30 minutes of play. Lions shot 0-5 from the field and two turnovers. It's a matter of learning how to finish a game.

Go lions - lets go with Given and AO - Given our highest rated recruit in some while and AO a real presence in the paint. Our future! (Let's not forget Ashley - he will be a force under the net.) I am expeecting these two guys (Given and Alex) to surpass Worthy and Knight - call me a fool but that is my call. Check their freshman records. Plus Garibay - will exceed Ayers performance - NCAA playoffs in the bag in a few years. Not to mention the new, known and unknown recruits. Expect another loss to Notre Dame next week then we get the season underway for real!

For the record, the 05/06 season that we keep using as a benchmark featured a nonconference record of 3-11. Currently, we are 3-6. So, those jumping out of windows should realize that with the remaining nonconference schedule, we have winnable games against Montana, Bakersfield, Seattle, Long Beach, and Sac State, and with one more victory we will have surpassed the nonconference win total of the Worthy/Knight/Martin/Ziri/Ayer/Wardrop squad.
Plus, this would be an improvement featuring mainly players brought in by the current coaching staff (and those who didn't jump ship ala OJ when the coach left), whereas 05/06 was Aggers' team with Tention taking the credit.

Grrr another close one slips out of our hands due to mistakes. JD and Drew didn't have the best games. Great job on the boards tonight by the fellas.

The difference between JD's bad game, and Viney's - If Viney isn't scoring, he brought in some boards. JD wasn't scoring, but was still hacking those shots up, and was turning the ball over. Seriously - he's a great kid, but if he's in the tank, do him a favor and let him recover. Geez.

I didn't get a chance to listen to the game, but read through everything. One question: Did we go to zone in the second half (once we had fallen behind by 11 at halftime), or were we in zone the entire game?
Love the rebounding, and if Viney does anything we probably win. Golions, you are so right. These are frustrating games to lose, but we will be a better team because of this. One other note: Seattle is not a "winnable game". They are really, really good, and even though it is at home and is a revenge game, that will be a tough one.

Gracia Seattle's big man is averaging 26 ppt. Su has already beat utah and Fresno state- it will be a very difficult game.
