I also got word that they will be selling the T-shirts to non-students at the tailgate. Shadez - I'll pick you up one, if you want. Email me your address. Then, just pay it forward....

One more thing to giggle about - 4 Pac-10 teams are still dancing (Cal and Washington in the Big Dance, Arizona State in the NIT, and Oregon State in the CBI.) and ... 4 WCC teams are still going strong (Gonzaga and St. Marys in the dance, Portland and the Ever Loving Lions in the CIT).
Let's play with numbers - 40% of the Pac-10 is still alive. But, wait, 50% ... yes, 50% of the WCC is dancing.
Does that make our conference better? I think so....

I can't wait. I understand it's the CIT but proud of the way this team has progressed this year. We will be at the tailgate early as usual. It will be great to see the team in action at least one more time.

Agree - it isn't the NCAA, but I truly don't care. I'm so proud of this team achieving the success they have had this year, and being able to continue it into a post season. I'm just not ready for this season to end. So - bring on the Tigers!

Of course we know what this means... We're the only school in LA County still dancing. To take it one step further. SDSD, UCSB, and LMU are the only Southern Cal schools to have post season play. How do you like them apples?

UOP: Having suffered many losses to UOP over the years, I've seen enough of UOP.
This isn't one of UOP most talented teams. But they will not beat themselves. They are a smart disciplined team with a very good coach.
Willard was the leading scorer, he has some good posts moves and passes the ball out really well.
I think LMU guards match up well vs UOP guards.
Vinney will have to step up for UOP to win. I think Vinney had some BW schools on his transfer list, SB and maybe UOP, this will be a good test.

A run down of the teams in CIT www.collegeinsider.com/tournament/2010_teams.htmlHere is LMU's blurb. LOYOLA MARYMOUNT LIONS 18-15 (7-7 West Coast Conference) The Lions don't feature a senior on the roster and rank 300 out of 343 Division I teams in terms of experience. Max Good has led this young bunch to 18 wins on the season, the most for the program since the 1995-96 season. That's an improvement of a mind boggling 15 victories over last season's 3-28 mark. Taking better care of the basketball has helped the turnaround, with the Lions leading the WCC in turnover margin (+0.50).

Lions and Tigers! Oh my. I wish I could see this game, but I can't wait to hear about the crazy drunk fans. I hope they come in masses! UCLA didn't make the tourney this year? I thought they were a pretty consistent team...

We keep being mentioned as the the team with the second largest turnaround this year. Does anyone know who the largest is? Since we are still alive - we could get to the largest if we keep winning.

I think it is Central Arkansas (Southland Conference) with a fifteen game turnaround ending at 21-8. Not sure if they are still alive.

It's Coastal Carolina and I believe they made the NIT.

Not sure if this was already mentioned but there is no bracket for this tourney. This is from the CIT website.
* There is no set bracket. The CIT uses the old NIT model of determining future round opponents following the conclusion of the previous round.

Here is analysis of Pacific
PACIFIC TIGERS 20-11 (12-4 Big West Conference) The Tigers clawed their way to a share of the Big West regular season championship with a late season surge. When league accolades were handed out, multiple Pacific players were honored. Senior forward Joe Ford was tabbed first-team All-Big West Conference and earned the Defensive Player of the Year award for the second year in a row. Forward Pat Eveland was selected as the league's best sixth man and freshman guard Allen Huddleston was selected to the Big West's All-Freshman team.
Would not be surprised to see them put Ford on Viney on the defensive end of the floor.
