NIT guarantees the regular season conference champ a spot, of course if that team didn't win their conference tourney. This is for the smaller conferences who only get one NCAA bid. So look for Cal State Santa Barbara to be in the NIT, after their annual BWT choke job.
As for a BW-WCC match up:
LB is 500 right now and likely will finish with a under .500 record. I doubt they get invited to either of the 2 C's tourneys. They have no shot at the NIT.
If Cal State Santa Barbara does win the BWT, UOP will more than likely make the NIT. I don't think LMU will make the NIT.

I can confirm that we have been officially invited to a tournament, and that it's looking like we will host the first round game on March 17. That's all I can tell you at this point.

A St. Paddy Day tailgate? Count me in and I'll round up additional troops for the game. It will be a nice reward for the players and extra practime time alone would be worth it (although not sure if the players would agree). Go Lions!

I think the extra practice time is a huge deal in terms of prep for next year. That's one of the reasons not making a bowl game is a major blow for football teams.

Oh, I also wanted to mention this.
Do not be surprised if you see LMU on ESPN a few more times next season.

Yeah, nothing official though.
Given the success and youth of LMU's squad, it sounds like ESPN wants to get a few games on TV. I'm guessing both games vs the Zags will be showcased next season at the very least. Maybe that could also prompt some creative scheduling next year, trying to get some higher profile OOC games so ESPN can maybe get some.
As I said, nothing official yet, but there is interest by ESPN.
