So it would have been better to lose, I dunno but I think there is a flaw somewhere in your thinking.

Its hard to say that it would have been better to lose, but unfortunately the 3rd win is what might give the admin some false hope inthe staff. Robert said it, the play in is always winnable. The next game we played against a bottom half team and already had a full game on the court and got use to how it plays. That right there is the reason why St. MAry's had scheduled games at Orleans in the past during the season.
The last game is what gets us in trouble because who do you fire a coach when they win three games in three nights and give the number 1 team in the nation the best game they have had in quite some time, at least for the first 20 minutes.
We all have expressed our feelings and I agree that possibly that third game could in my perspective screw my hopes for this group.
We have some pieces, some good some bad, but we aren't getting anywhere with our current motivation strategy. Structure and being rigid is needed in these kids' lives, but demeaning yelling doesn't do that.
Thank you Coach Good for being willing to step up for a friend when he needed you. Thank you for being there for these kids when the person they thought was going to be there disappeared. Hopefully if you want to continue coaching that is available to you, however I hope we move in a new direction.

Husak, time to pony up. We need to see a press release on where you stand....are you not renewing Good's contract or are you? TRANSPARENCY PLEASE!
The minute the PR goes out, is the minute that will end Husak's career at LMU. It will be a desperation move to give another contract to a 72 year old sub-.500 coach that won one conference game this year or it will be a PR announcing that Good contract was not renewed and LMU is in process of search. Regardless, Husak will be out of a job as Burcham will not let Bove allow Husak make the next head coaching decision.
HUSAK, WE WANT TRANSPARENCY. SEND THAT PR OUT AS WE WANT YOU GONE REGARDLESS.
FIRE HUSAK!!!!!!

But but but... water polo!
Husak is a complete roadblock to Burcham's mission to have us in the same sentence as Georgetown. Men's basketball is directly responsible for not only financing the other sports, but is by far our number one source of any sort of national press, and Husak continues to give us a black eye in his inaction. And the fact that not only is a sudden 3 game winning streak seemingly a vote of confidence, but that miracle darling team of Tention's first year finished 12-18. TWELVE AND EIGHTEEN! Do we have no standards?

Further, whether the administration likes it or not, a successful is an integral part of raising the university's profile. Our non-revenue programs have been successful in spite of Husuck, not because of him. Good ADs generally fall into one of two categories: good fundraisers or good program managers/builders. Husuck is neither.

just an idea, but would it work to hire an athletic director from a great division 2 program? another thing. Does this search need to be thorough or does it just have to be anyone but husak?

Now that Bill Husak has issued is hidden press release that Coach Good is coming back for his sixth season, he has now put a nail in his own situation as AD. Bill Husak will be released as AD of LMU. There will be a frenzy of e-mails and meetings with David Burcham.

Bove, should be off retired resting on her laurels in her beach bungalow. Husak, should be running a country club in OC. Good, should be coaching a DIII program in Connecticut.
REAL change couldn't come soon enough...

Given that Good won more than 20 games just a year ago, and that there are players coming in that will address this team's sorest needs (size)-I say he gets another year....with one exception....if Ben Howland becomes available (which I suspect will be the case shortly-then the school should pay whatever it takes within reason to get him
Howland's style of coaching would work better at a school like LMU (as it did at Pitt) then it does with the egos he has to deal with at UCLA.
I don't think the administration is that smart at LMU though-hope they fool me though

lions90045 I admire your loyalty, but you know as well as i do this ship has been taking in water for the past decade and a half. went to the pepperdine game i saw a gentleman cheering on for lmu, and cheering hard, but by mid 2nd half he got up with his granddaughter/daughter and left. do you really want another season like the past 10.5, or do you want something promising for the 2013-2014 season.

No wonder Howland was howling about having to travel so far in the NCAA tourney! Nice find.
