It will be hard to get Purcell with all schools involved...Sears would really help our dearth of outside shooting.

It will be an interesting Spring! Better than the national political scene. (Let's not go there on this board, we have enough to talk about re LMU and WCC basketball.)

Was reviewing 2104 committments for all WCC teams on ESPN recruting site. Granted it's only one source and the star rating is a crapshoot, but based on their star calculation, we have the 3rd best recruting class in the WCC for 2014. BYU leads the pack with 2 "4star" and 2 "3star" commits. Par for the course for their program. Gonzaga has one "4star" and 2 "3star" commits. We have 1 "4star" and 1 "3star" commits. After that, it really drops off as the only schools with any 3 or 4 star recruits are St. Mary's with 1 "3star" commit and Pacific with 1 "3star" commit. All the other teams max out at 2 stars. Considering we have 2 all all-WCC freshman performers in Levin and Payne and we are banging on new doors as we speak, things are looking very promising at the present moment. Stakes are high. We really need to add a pure shooter to the mix.

pumpfake, nice research. Yes, I think having two all-conference freshman and the third-best recruiting class is incredibly promising.
I am still torn regarding the coaching staff's future. I see the talent they are bringing, and we have not seen anything like it in, now, 25 years.
My fear is that we let Max go, lose a bunch of recruits/current players, and 3-4 years from now we are still in the cellar.
I hope it all works out.

Retweeted by DeVaughn Purcell, looks like more people will be watching him (and see Sears) tonight...since we have offered Sears on Tuesday, I almost hope he does NOT have another 23pt/16reb game...might start garnering more attention (hope he just has a standard 17 pt game).
Retweeted by DeVaughn Purcell #22 Brad Winton @jucorecruiting 8h Auburn, TCU and George Mason will be in tonight to watch Devaughn Purcell (6-5/G/2014) of Eastern Oklahoma.

Sears made four 3-point baskets tonight. Scored 18 with 8 rebounds. Purcell had 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Their regular season is over. Team went 20-9. I am assume they have a conference tournament.
Sears had 10 20-point games, and, more importantly, had 11 games with at least three 3-point baskets. And his worse three-point percentage in those 11 games was 37.5% (3-of-8). That means most of his games were 3-of-5, 4-of-7, type three-point shooting nights. He never attempted more than 9 three's in a game, so he isn't a volume shooter, looks like he really is a pure shooter.
Hope Dontavious accepts our offer.
