Thanks to Ironlion for the reference with Watson's relationship with the rumored new assistant coach, here is some info on potential recruit Point Guard Devin Watson.

Scouts Grade 75, Ranked #15 in California

Strengths:
Watson is a true point guard (head is always up) with good length and his burst off the dribble is quite good. His crossover is low and tight and he is quite potent in a high screen and roll offensive set. If the lane isn't available he displayed an impressive pull-up game.
Weaknesses:
Watson's decision-making was erratic this past weekend. He left his feet numerous times while penetrating and passing, which led to turnovers. In addition. he needs to tighten his handle (dribbles too high) while attacking the defense. Polishing his game management skills (time and score) and savvy (ball control) will elevate his game.
Bottom Line:
The west has seen a severe drought in terms of Division I point guard prospects. However, the sophomore class (2014) and freshman class (2015) have some intriguing prospects-and Watson fits into group.
Here are some comments on Devin from ESPN Insider reports on recent all-star games – all good.
Best Scorer
Devin Watson (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino)
2014, SG, 5-11, 160
Status: Claims offers from St. Marys, Oregon State, UNLV, San Francisco, and Seattle University
Watson is scoring guard in a point guard's frame. His shot is effortless out to 20 feet and he possesses a variety of dribble-drive moves to free himself up for his shot. He'll dump off the occasional assist, but Watson is a gifted scorer to the core. Best Scorer

Lead guards
Neither Jarvis Garrett (Milwaukee, Wis./Notre Dame Prep) nor Devin Watson (Oceanside, Calif./El Camino) has ideal size for the high-major level, but lately that appears to be less of a deterrent. Garrett was set to choose between Marquette and Rhode Island this week before picking up new interest from Indiana, Purdue, Missouri, Oregon State and others after showing his combination of long-range shooting and pick-and-roll prowess last weekend. Watson is a scoring guard who is hearing primarily from schools such as St. Mary’s, Cal State Northridge, Loyola Marymount, San Francisco and San Diego, but he also had the attention of Connecticut head coach Kevin Ollie at one point.

Best floater
Devin Watson (San Diego/Army & Navy)
2014, SG, 6-0, 155
Status: Claims offers from Oregon State, UTEP, San Diego, Cal State Northridge and Northern Arizona.
Although Watson is often listed as a point guard, there is no question scoring is his forte. He has become quite crafty with his handle and has an innate ability to convert buckets at a consistent rate. Watson can nail jump shots on a regular basis, and his pull-up game is tight, especially his high-level floater.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA -- The Double Pump Summer Tip-Off in Anaheim and Pangos Sweet 16 in Long Beach went head-to-head this past week, and as a result there were a plethora of elite-level prospects to scope out in Southern California.
After the first evaluation period ended on Sunday, there were two guards who stood head and shoulders above the rest: Jeremy Hemsley (La Verne, Calif./Damien) and Devin Watson (San Diego/Army & Navy).
Here’s a look at all the top performers from the Double Pump Tip-Off and Pangos 16.
Joel Francisco/ESPN.com Devin Watson could have the most upside of any point guard in California.
Co-MVPs
Devin Watson (San Diego/Army & Navy)
2015, PG/SG, 6-0, 155
Status: Claims offers from Oregon State, UTEP, San Diego, Cal State Northridge and Northern Arizona
Watson came into the first evaluation period with the fearless competitive nature we have grown to expect from him. The undersized scoring point guard is a high-level bucket getter who can drain 3-point shots, nail mid-range pull-ups or slash his way to the rim. His Tyus Edney-like game-winning full-court layup was a thing of beauty. He is much more scorer than facilitator, but he does have the ability to drop off a nifty assist at times.
