I never saw him play in high school but from the first time I saw him play for us, I could tell he lacked the ability to play at a high level. I have no idea what the scouts saw; however I do know he played at a low (small school) level in high school. His competition was non- existent. I could look good at that level. What? ?? Among Stover's opponents Senior Year: Price High School (3 times) (Allan Crabbe NBA) LaVerne Lutheran (Grant Jerret NBA) Compton Archishop Mitty (Aaron Gordon NBA lottery pick) Taft DeMatha (Jeremi Grant NBA) Campbell Hall Okay, I get it, this board doesn't like Nick Stover and thinks he sucks, but to say you could do great against the powerhouses of high school basketball and that his competition is non-existent is ridiculous!!! Why does this board mob towards these opinions?? I'm happy Good is gone, but I'm not thrilled at Dunlap either until I see some results, and thus far, we've had a ton of defections or he's kicking guys out of his program which will not look good for future recruits.

Stover had talent and that was clear. For whatever reason he had a hard time producing offensively and lost his confidence from outside. He still had some craftiness to him and defensively was a stud. I think the biggest thing for stover was just adjusting to the talent. Imagine that wingspan on a High School team. He probably didn't feel as much pressure on his jumpshot w/ defenders closing out then and had to adjust to playing alongside bigger stronger players. I bet he had no problem imposing his will and feeling as though he could impose his will. once his length lost it's edge I think he had to reset and he can still be a solid college player. Either way i'm not too concerned, I like the guys we have coming in.

While stover did play the teams you mentioned SLB.. he played in Division 5 CIF basketball.. and his league did feature a ton of teams with 5'2- 5'8 white dudes with no athleticism. Windward would play some strong teams, but they played a ton of terrible teams as well.
