Fyer4Three alluded to Simon's team mate committing/signing with LMU. Based on this Fyer's quote "recruiter--- do we have anyone else signed besides P.H...? " It has to be Petr Herman a big man also at Canarias. Based on the video it looks like the guy that has been described . Herman would be a very nice pick up for LMU depending on how he has recovered to his ACL injury from last year. He was a top euro prospect and on North Carolina State's radar but injured the ACL injury last spring. ACL is a tough injury to recover from mentally and physically , especially for a big man. i.e. Edgar Garibay. If he is %100 then it could be very good for LMU. Good news after really bad news on Gabe. From the video, Petr seems to do a lot of things well. Most notably, he can shoot well from a big man and has range; he hits the offensive glass with a vengeance; and he can play with his back to the basket --good footwork in the paint as well. We've needed that type of offensive inside presence for a while. Look forward to hearing that the ink is dry.

I like what I see in the video. Petr seems stronger than I might have thought at 6'11" 210 lbs - he looks like he can hold his own under the basket. Good skills for a big man - he'll give our opponents nightmares to prepare for his game if he is healthy after his injury noted above. Thanks for the update.

I noted the intro on youtube to the video above states Petr is 6'10" and 225 lbs - the heavier weight makes more sense to me from his body on the clips. He's definitely built stronger than Mornar. Perhaps Money has been hitting the weights big time and visiting "In-n-Out Burger" frequently since the season ended?

I'm starting to wonder why we have not heard any news on Petr Herman- from several post on the board it sounded like he was a sure thing for LMU. He has several team mates going to high major (detailed below) Maybe there are other schools recruiting him now.
Michal Cekovsky (Maryland) Shaquille Doorson (Pitt) Matz Stockman ( Louisville) Gaston Diedhiou (Minnesota)

Per ironlion mentioning Petr Herman's struggles, let's not forget he is coming back from an ACL injury. Prior to that North Carolina State wanted him!
Is Herman playing to expectations? No. But if NC State wanted him, can't blame Dunlap for going after him. And per his bio on LMU's site, it says he most recently played in summer of 2013. So maybe his ACL kept him in mothballs for a year? I don't know.
Go Lions.

I should not bash Herman as I did. It is true that he is coming back from a ACL which is a very hard injury- especially a big man. After Edgar's ACL he lost all most all his explosiveness and over all game. I wish Herman would get in the paint and mix it up and not float around the 3 point line like Marco Deric. I just wonder when exactly Dunlap's assessment of Herman comes form.

iron - I agree that Petr should mix it up a bit more under the basket and play less "soft," plus let some shots fly from inside the arc - he has a good shot but seems gun shy to me, kind of like Stover played last season. We desperately need more "creators" on offense besides Evan and sometimes Deji and Simon. Patson shows signs of initiating some offense but his skills are still a work in progress. Mornar is another offensive threat but also needs to initiate the action more often. Matt and David may be capable on a more consistent basis but they aren't quite there yet.

I'm struggling to figure out how he was going to cut into Gabe Levin's minutes. Remember, I think people on this board were talking about how now that Levin had to "earn" his minutes and that he would sit behind Herman....boy oh boy.
Forget having Stewart or Cartwright...our frontline would be miles different if you have Levin in there taking pressure off Siame. That pushes Mornar to an off the bench role with Okonji deeper in the rotation. An extra offensive threat that takes the pressure off Payne and helps spread the floor for Hayes.
Big loss there.
What I don't understand is that if the guy isn't ready or healthy to play right away, and you think he's not going to stick around for more than a couple years, how is that building a program? Sounds like he wanted a quick fix but it has not worked out this way. The good news is that after his performance thus far, he might not get any offers to play pro anytime soon.
