Rozelle Nix, a 6-11 335 center from Pensacola Junior College will visit LMU at end of August. Nix played with Evan, Nino and Patson at Kingdom Prep. It looks like Nix did not qualify academically coming out of HS and ended up a Pensacola. Nix has pretty high profile coming out HS but it seems to be dropped down a notch. He now holds offers from Ball State, Idaho, Norfolk State per verbal commits.

ESPN Scouts Report when Rozell came out of high school (before Prep School)
Rozell Nix Center, 6’10” 285 Class of 2012 Scouts Grade 88 2-Star Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio, Withrow High School
ESPN Analyst Updated 01/24/2012
Strengths: Nix is a true center that has tremendous size. He seems to be as wide as he is tall. He is more mobile than he appears. Nix rim runs with great energy and effort on a consistent basis. He has good hands and feet as well. Nix works for low post position and can score with his back to the rim over his left shoulder and with power drop steps through contact. He competes in his area for rebounds on both ends and will change and block shots within reach as well. Nix gives great effort every second he is on the floor. Nix also seems to be a good teammate.
Weaknesses: Nix must work to change his body and get into great shape in order to be productive for long periods of time. He must also work to add to his back to the basket moves by developing an go to move and counter move on both sides of the lane.
Bottom Line: Nix is a wide body post that plays with great energy and urgency on both ends of the floor. He competes for rebounds and makes his presence felt as soon as he takes the floor with his presence and production. Body maintenance is the key for long term success, his upside is tremendous.
Looks like he needs to work on conditioning and perhaps lose a few pounds.

I watched him play a game. He's huge. He dominated the paint due to his size but he was slow and there's no way he could've played a D1 game 16 months ago. Maybe he can now.

Thanks for the update. That's OK - we have Patson (at least for now).
