Hi Everyone, LMU earns it's first win under coach Dunlap. Don't know the the specifics, but Egbeyemi hit a 3 pointer with .8 to tie the game at 73 -73. The final score 90-85. They erase a 13 point deficit.

Can anyone who is there in Spain give us a breakdown of each player and how they looked? I know this might be asking a lot but inquiring minds want to know!!
Just from first looks it looks as expected.. Payne being the dominant scorer... one of the best in the WCC. That dunk... damn.. the kid has hops.
Highlights show us actually hitting a few 3's? Wow. Thats a change.
Points from Humphries, Herman, and Deji... Deji might provide some scoring punch as a senior.. Would be nice if he can score as well.

Great start as a team Sounds like they played a legitimate game against a worthy opponent Re the players, Payne with 25 is great; Deji will be a main all-around player this season, scoring rebounding and defending; Humphries showing up early as is Herman Overall very encouraging Go Lions!

Hayes had solid minutes playing soild defense and knocking down a couple of 3's. Played a nice all around game. So did the other guys not mentioned. As usual this type of player gets lost in the background, plays the game, scores, assist, etc. team player. They just win. Your assessment is spot on Lion90045.

The still photos showed Patson in street clothes. My guess is that recently received or is awaiting final medical full clearance and Dunlap wisely wants to go slow.

Second game I take it didn't go so well. No reports or tweets..... www.lmulions.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/081614aab.htmlThey lost 80-63 but they played against the Angolan men's basketball team which is no joke at all. That's a respectable performance against one of the top African teams that apparently had a solid showing against the nba filled roster of spain. edit. Looking at the footage the main takeaway is that Godwin looks solid. His hands were never too solid but he found a lot of easy looks and converted well.

Thanks for the update Nice to hear that we are playing some real competition on our trip Losses at this time may be more valuable than wins I'd like to hear some more scoring from our inside guys - the guards seem to be carrying the day on offense In any case, good experience is being gained Go Lions!

I'm enjoying the daily video segments with different team members and the daily photos. Two takeaways from these two items so far - the young men all seem well grounded and emotionally mature. And, they all seem to genuinely like each other. The photos, and there are lots of candid shots, show smiles and comraderie. The comments in the videos don't appear scripted and Spiers and others have mentioned how well everyone gets along. Finally, in many group shots Payne has his arms around various of his new teammates and smiles on his face. From all appearances, Payne is happy and appears to be showing leadership on and off the court. This team (including many newcomers) appears to be growing together and to genuinely like each other away from the court. If that perception is true and continues these Lions might just surprise us as well as the rest of the WCC. It's very early but it sure is fun to have a reason for optimism beyond just wanting it to be so.

longtime - you are right on - the videos are great and the team seems to be bonding nicely I see some impressive shooting in the limited clips, admittedly the highlights, and I'm impressed with Okonji's apparent added muscle and inside moves; I expecet him to start at Center if my impressions are right, especially with his experience. Dunlap is doing an impressive job so far administering the overall program - keep up the good work. Go Lions.
