Hi All - I work in LMU's University Relations division, and while I know fan message boards generally frown upon promotional posts, I'm just here to invite you to a live online Q&A that the LMU Magazine website is hosting with Mike Dunlap on Monday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. PT. For one hour, Coach Dunlap will field your questions on all things related to Lion basketball! The link to RSVP, and then to participate in the Q&A is magazine.lmu.edu/dunlapchat. The first 10 participants whose questions are answered by Coach Dunlap will receive a pair of tickets to the LMU Classic on Nov. 14-15... good for all four games over the two-day tourney. I'm sure many of you are already season ticket holders, so give them to a friend and introduce them to LMU basketball! If you're unable to join the live chat, feel free to submit questions via Twitter using #DunlapChat. In addition, the entire chat transcript will remain active throughout the season at the link above. Hope you can join us on Oct. 13, and if you have any questions about the Q&A, fire away!

I'm afraid I probably have a whole lot more questions than Coach D has answers!! I don't mean that in a disparaging way. It's simply the situation we're in today.

Welcome Nuevo! Thanks for the invite. Is there anything from the annual Wooden luncheon? Did Dunlap participate? In the past clips were posted of the LMU coaches comments.

Thanks for the update Dunlap brought in his personal history well in his speech including his early contact with Wooden in Alaska If the local teams wanted to.play us, I wish he would have agreed to take on UCLA or USC in a series of games A minor note, don't say "my point is" so often - but I forgive the "new kid" on the block in light of the company

Watched this video with thanks to LMU and the coach. I like Dunlap’s overall team first approach. Re the boards, Siame mentioned first then Okonji – Herman is third place with his size. First assessment of Siame I’ve seen in a while - encoaraging. Re PG, encouraging to hear Matt Hays is the man as I expected but now coach has publicly noted. Terse responses – could use more of this in our government. Perhaps this is a result of the on-line format? Starters – Deji, Hays, Mornar, Okonji and Humphries – a big lineup and veteran biased. Testimony to Godwin’s off season gaining muscle (nice to hear confirmation) – he looks like a hand full! Lineup as the season progresses is subject to adjustments according to performance of the players of course. A bit of an overly commercial flavor maybe to the overall video? In any case, thanks and well done LMU!

So I know you guys would be fine with Payne and Siame being 8th and 9th guys off the bench, but what do you guys feel about Herman also being benched? If he can't beat out Mornar, we're going to be baaaad. That on paper looks like the worst starting 5 in the conference. Actually, he never mentioned Payne. Is he on the way out to join Gabe in Long Beach State or to UCSB en route to more NCAA tourney appearances?
I think its funny to say "veteran" line-up with Siame and Herman are both like 21 years old, as is Kravcovic. The only older guy is Okonji and Egbeyemi, everybody else is the same age. Obviously Dunlap has a vendetta early against some players.
This is definitely a strange day. Dunlap reminds me less of a basketball coach and more of a soccer coach of the European kind. He's either a mad genius or a train wreck. Time will tell.

Can't wait for the season to begin! The dawn of a new era! I wish the players and the coaching staff all the best heading into the 2014-15 season.
I have a feeling Dunlap will bring the roar back to LMU.
Go Lions!

I think Coach was being quite coy during the entire interview.
I don't believe that starting line-up mentioned last night. Actually, it doesn't even square with a number of his other comments. He might be developing some pretty good ideas on who is going to be in his rotations but he's not going to tell us.
I wouldn't get too worked up about what he said.

Hi guys/ladies As far as RIGHT NOW this is who's starting... Means nothing, take it with a grain of salt. It seems if something is said that a person doesn't like, it all bad. No One outside of the team REALLY knows what's going on. Just sit back and relax and embrace it for what it is...

Talk about over reaction and lack of "veteran" perspective; c'mon. The team has been practicing for 10 days and will need contributions at points during the season from at least 10 members of the team to be successful. My perspective is the five players he mentioned have been working their butts off during the summer and the beginning of practice and Dunlap is recognizing them and their efforts. Matt Hayes was mentioned a number of times as was Humphries and from what I've read and heard both are within the top 7 players. Likewise, I'd expect that Godwin and Deji will see significant time throughout the season. Now, do you think that Dunlap wants to encourage Mornar to keep working hard? By the way, I attended an event where I heard Dunlap mention that Mornar lead the WCC last year in blocks to minutes played. Do you think that Dunlap may want some contributions from Mornar in certain games, particularly as a zone defender? And, what is wrong with letting Payne, Herman and Siame know they must earn their minutes? Nothing! As veteran fans let's exercise and show some perspective.
