He is our best 3 point shooter, just behind Evan in 3's made and tied with David despite playing far fewer minutes. Like everyone else, I noticed he was frequently open but seemingly ignored while we apparently tried to complete some sort of a play. Other times he would get the ball only when the clock was running down and he had to force a shot; however, thanks to his range he often still managed to score. Looked as if his shoulder was bothering him most of the season; and the prospect of a healthier Matt next season coupled with growth and development (by none other than the great motivator/teacher/guru CMD) is a ray of hope. Dunlap would be nuts to let this guy slip away.

Hi Ladies and Gentlemen, I use both loosely (just kidding). As of this writing, as far as I know Matt is still a Lion, Matt is a team guy. It's killing him to see all the guys leaving but he knows it's part of the business. Coach Dunlap has one on one conversation with each player at the end of the season, last I heard Matt hadn't has his conversation with coach yet. I'm thinking his mom and dad would be one of the first to know if he were no longer part of Coach Dunlap's vision/plan. Stay tuned...... GO LIONS!!!!

Guarddad - thanks for the update and I stand duly admonished for spreading an untrue rumor.
I look forward to seeing more of Matt. I said at the beginning of the season that I thought he would be a key contributor because of his scoring ability and "knack" for the game. That didn't happen but I don't think it was his fault.

Glad Matt is still on board, Guarddad. I can picture Tutu driving the lane and kicking it out to Matt for an open three-pointer!
Speaking of which, am I the only one clicking on this link multiple times a day waiting for the news regarding Dunlap's recruiting commitments for 2015-16? Go Lions!

I am guilty checking in for news. For better or worse, the board has been pretty active lately. Are we watching a slow moving train wreck or a basketball genius who is two steps ahead of us? Either way, you can't help but tune if to see what happens next..... It's all about the next 4 or 5 recruits. At least 3 of them better be pretty darn good. Choo Choo.

I check regularly for recruits and also to see who else is leaving. We'll learn the news from this board, not from ESPN recruiting data.

I think we're all looking for some good news. I doubt we will see much of anything until after the season is over. Not our season -- everyone else's.

Yes, it does feel like a make or break spring for Dunlap! I know he will at least get a third year after this upcoming season, but if he whiffs this spring it will be very difficult to do well in year three. I am hopeful.

St Mary's is on TV now and the announcers mentioned they have three Aussies on the roster this season and "three more coming in next season." ESPN doesn't have this info (or lots of other info) regarding Gaels' recruits - can anyone confirm or elaborate? They are beating Dunlap to the punch if the down-under continent is his target.

Yes, we are all dying to hear something positive about the program with recruiting being the only chance. I wrote a long ass post a couple of days ago because I was trying to make sense for myself what Dunlap was doing just to help subdue my frustration. It seems like he's putting all of his eggs in the basket of Haney and Herman to turn it around next year. Tutu seems like a guy with talent who signed up to be Dunlap's whipping boy if it all falls apart. The only thing to missing to Dunlap's "vision" will be roughly 2-3 recruits (no less than that) who will blend themselves to with Tutu to become the team he wants.
Seriously, Dunlap must have some ace in the hole to be talking such a big game with his exiled players. Generally around the country, players have respect for Evan Payne. Shoot, LeBron James knows who he is (and according to a telecast knows him very well). I'm not a LeBron fan, but I wouldn't want to piss that guy off if I was looking for talent with his influence and summer program. Also, with recruiting being very competitive, other colleges will definitely use Dunlap's words against all of the former players if they come up in a bidding war for a particular recruit.
Any day now I'm waiting for two or three big time prospects who are stepping on to the LMU campus. I really, really hope Dunlap is not a classic representation of Alfred Alderian psychology.

I wonder in which hole he is hiding his ace.
