The Waves have compiled a nice record in pre-WCC play but I don’t see any really impressive opponents in their “win list.” Also, they are 2-3 on the road.
They have a balanced scoring attack with 5 players averaging over 9 ppg led by inside players Stacy Davis and Jett Raines – both Juniors. There are no Seniors on the roster so the entire team will be back next season.
This is a great rivalry game and I expect a barn burner when the Lions open WCC play.
I think Dunlap has the team playing improved ball every game, especially our tenacious defense in the 3-2 zone, as we take on the Waves. The key will be limiting turnovers and the Lions interior defense – if Godwin, Siame and crew can control the Waves two bigs, we have a nice shot at a win. That would be a big lift starting league play.
Our momentum coming off our win over DePaul in Aloha-land hopefully will carry over against the Waves.
