Husky - don't worry too much about missing seeing the game. Most of the Lions don't seem to be seeing too much of the game either.
This is truly ugly. USF is riddling our 2-3 zone, inside and out. USF has 13 free throws and we have none. It's not due to biased refs. Our guys are way late on their defensive assignments and end up fouling.

As I said at half, "miracles happen". I can almost taste the kool aid. Although I still don't get that last full time out when we were making our move; hey, I don't care.. Great 2nd half effort!!!

The Lions played a scrappy, aggressive second half. Kudos for erasing a 17 point deficit and coming out with the win. I sure was glad to see Dunlap scrap that miserable zone. Allowing the guys to aggressively go after the Dons made all the difference in the world.
I still think USF has substantially more talent than Santa Clara, but they can certainly kill themselves. Rex Walters has to be livid with his guys for blowing that lead.
Sure nice to see a win.

Waves seem to be folding - what's going on there?

The Broncos are playing very well. Clarke is having a great season. The Waves are struggling finding someone to score and take the pressure off Davis.

I now see Dunlaps plan 1 lull the opponent into a false sense of victory 2, suddenly take him out! The old Ali "Rope a dope plan!"

After watching the entire excrutiating loss to SCU on theW.tv on Thursday, I can't say how thrilled I was to see the lions step up and make a play to win the game at the buzzer. It would have been a shame for us to lose given the effort and resilience this team has shown of late. I am really happy for the whole team. It's been a rough couple years and, if anyone deseerved a break, it's our Lions. Each season is a journey and many teams faced with a string of losses pack it in or give in to in-fighting. To their credit, our guys haven't done that. A couple quick thoughts on some individuals. Chase Flint - you are our rudder and leader. Great work on both ends of the floor. Watching the replay of the last sequence of you bring the ball up and shouting out orders demontrated your leadership in spades. Deji - you bring tremendous energy and put pressure on whoever is guarding you and whoever you are guarding. Keep slashing and pulling up with that sweet mid-range shot. David - your strong outside shooting and overall hustle have made their mark on this team. You are generally shorter and slower than whoever you are guarding but you keep making plays. Keep it up. Marin - you are coming into your own before our eyes. I sense all WCC next year. And Evan, you have probably had the toughest road of all. I am very impressed at how you have worked on your overall offensive game at the expense of your scoring. It was only fitting that after you gave up the ball to Marin in the final possession that you were the one to tip in the winner. Your tip-in wasn't luck - you kept moving after your pass and made a play. Beautiful. I think we have a good shot to win our share of games down strech and claim a spot in the middle of the pack in the WCC. Looking forward to Patson returning soon and for our guys to build on the confidence and sense of purpose they are showing of late.

Nice to see a some fight out of the Lions yesterday. This comeback was reminiscent of the comeback our Lions had against USF at home a few years ago, facing a similar deficit late in the second half. For some reason, LMU and USF seem to be each other's foil over the past 4-5 years.
Humphries has realized that while he won't be a 20ppg scorer in the WCC, he can be a very good glue guy, so it is glad to see a change in his energy level and focus on the court lately. Egbeyemi is the middle of his usual mid-season tantalizing play, probably realizing that he has 10 games left in his career so he might as well make some use of it.
Regarding Dunlap, nice to see some genuine self-criticism his twitter feed on Friday. Coincidence that his players didn't let it go down the stretch?

pumpfake - I too am especially pleased for the players - they deserved to win given how much each one puts into the games. SLB - nice comments especially about Humphries. He does handle his own under the boards and can make the lay up and shoot the 3 - he was 5 for 7 in the game and 3 of 4 from FT. Deji is playing hard as usual and his showing up early in the game on offense is a bonus.
I'd like to see continued success to convince all our guys to stick around for the future.
Go Lions!
