It's exciting to think about him and Tutu in the back court. I think they could be playing together at times and that would make for a fast back court tandem.

I'd like to see Dunlap maybe transition him into a 2 guard, maybe Iron or someone could enlighten me since I have not seen much of these guys, but Brown seems more of scorer and Tutu seems more of a true PG, and they both seem good enough to start. I could see a starting lineup next year of:
1 - Tutu 2 - Brown/Hayes 3 - Humphries/McClendon/Haney 4 - Mornar/Jacko/Johnson 5 - Much improved Herman (I hope) / Big man recruit we that has yet to sign with us (I hope)
Tutu and Brown can switch off playing the PG when either needs a rest, we can go small with tutu, brown, hayes, Humphries and Mornar or Big with Brown, McClendon, Jacko, Johnson, and Herman
Always seems to look better on paper in the off season when it comes to LMU, hoping it's different this time, I'm liking these recruits and they seem to really fit Dunlap's system

Golions, I like the lineup discussion. However, I am hoping Haney is one if our top scorers next year. I think he will play a key role.
I think you could play Haney at 3, Humphries can defend a 4 (and be a tough match up at the other end) and Mornar as a stretch 5. We will need Herman, Johnson and Jacko to use their muscle on D, but depending on the opponent Mornar can play the 5.
And it would be great, I agree, if Herman takes a big step forward next season. Watching him try to come back and play on a bad ankle in the last home game showed he has heart.

Mornar is very skinny and better suited as a weak side shot blocker than straight up post defender imo.
I think Dunlap is going to ride or die with Herman, the future pro big. But just call it two guards and three forward lineup
I can see this rotation G Tutu/ Hayes G Brown/ McClendon F Haney / Humphries F Mornar/ Jacko F Herman
Spiers and Johnson are deep on the bench. Basically everybody here can switch positions and defensive assignments. To me, it looks the same as last year but without Deji and Okonji doing yeoman's work. At least replacing Flint with Tutu will be big. Brown and Payne defensively will be a wash. Other than that it's all coming down to seeing Dunlaps defensive playbook. I really don't think Dunlap is concerned about scoring. He sees how much micromanagement there is on every possession in CBB and wants LMU to look like Virginia or Wisconsin. Seems okay, but offense will have to come from somewhere. I think he still needs to find a guy who can create a bucket for himself.

I kind of forget about Haney sometimes, but you are right thx4leavinjimlynam, Haney should not be overlooked. There were a lot of good things said about him coming out of high school. Would love to see a lot of Tutu and Brown getting into the lane and either drawing a foul, finishing at the rim, or dishing out to Haney/Humphries/Hayes (Haney is tall, Humphries has good range, and Matt has a quick release) for a 3. These guys are really good shooters.
I think we can afford to have McClendon on the floor to lock up the other teams best scorer and still have enough offensive firepower. Really would like to see 2 more solid recruits, or even better, some high major transfers. I still think Herman will be much imporved next year, but would love to get someone to replace Siame.

From what I have heard Tutu will need some time to develop. Brown will be a impact player from the get go.

That makes sense too...Tutu needs to put on some size to compete at the next level. So maybe more like rotations like this next year:
PG: Brown/Tutu SG: Humphries/Haney/Hayes/McClendon SF: Humphries/Haney/McClendon/Jacko/Speirs PF: Mornar/Jacko/Johnson C: Herman/Mornar/Johnson
Do we have any Centers on our radar?

Since our rotation is up for discussion, I thought Iād post this old scouting report on Steve Haney when he was a high school senior.
He was 6ā6ā 185 scouts grade 78, 3-star, which is good.
He had offers from some 13 schools including Xavier and ended up at UCF for his first year.
I sense some folks are high on Steve and this early assessment confirms that expectation.
ESPN Analyst Updated 04/29/2013
Strengths: Steve is a really good shooter with range to 20 feet. He's a gym rat who comes from a basketball family and shows a good I.Q. He's a solid athlete with good ball skills right now. His claim to fame is his ability to shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor (mid range to long range). Steve's a good rebounder and a solid passer with good floor vision.
Weaknesses: Steve needs to improve his perimeter defense and needs to add strength. One particular area of improvement is he needs to be more assertive on the floor. He tends to go with the flow too much.
Bottom Line: Steve has all the tools to be a terrific wing player at the next level. He's got size, length and skill. The sky is the limit if he keeps getting better.
Notes 1st Team All-State in Florida as a junior (2012)...

My guess is Shamar Johson is a starting forward. At 6'6" 265 (likely to slimdown some) he is a big strong MAN. Football scouting report out of high school identified him as having long arms, soft hands and nimble feet. His JC stats and write-ups show and describe him as an excellent player. Dunlap didn't bring him in to be a bench player. He and Jacko will be the two most physical players on this roster.
