The rumors of Patson leaving have been around, but he confirmed it on his Instagram account today.

No, everyone is off base here. I recall the ESPN announcers in Hawaii clearly guarantee that great college basketball prospects would be lined up for a chance to learn from a hard nosed, demanding, task master like Coach Dunlap. So I'm sure recruitment will not be a problem.

I've been around basketball a long time and I've never seen anything quite like this. Kinda makes Rex Walters and USF look like a paragon of stability.
Looking on the bright side -- one of these days, we should have a lot of recruits to talk about.
.... And future opposing coaches are going to have a hard time planning their strategies for their games against us. This year's game films certainly won't help any.

Sorry I forgot for a moment - we're trying to build a sustainably successful team here. Dunlap needs time.

If you think it can't get worse, keep an eye out for our walk-on's to start jumping ship next.

I guess you missed Bayno's first year, when there was a huge turnover in players including one that went on to play in the NBA. You can go further back to when Aggers took over and only kept four guys and before that when Bradley took over and before that when Olive took over and before that when Goorjiian took over. Maybe you haven't been around that long.
Westhead kept most of the guys in place with the exception of Haney, who embarrassed himself and later led a revolt at SJ State. Tention kept most if not all of the players but he inherited a good team. Hillock kept everyone that first year because Westhead left late. But Hillock's second year a lot of players left.
It happens when a new coach comes into a program.

Spirit - you're not even close. The one year cumulative impact from CMD is running circles around those previous situations. It's become fairly obvious that CMD wants to start with a completely clean slate - across the board, not just with the roster. It's taken him a year to get that clean slate. It's going to be interesting to watch how he builds things his way. Maybe it'll work. Only time will tell.

Spirit, Orlando Johnson was told by Bayno that the team would need him as a starter for one more year but after that he may be a bench player. Bayno gave him the option to stay or leave. Bayno even offered to help him find a new school.

Whatever the reason I will agree with you that Bayno should have tried harder to keep him. But Bayno thought Viney was better. Turns out he was wrong.

I heard OJ left because he wanted Bayno to keep other teammates who really were DII talent and Bayno did not go along. Bayno's situation was different, OJ was really the only good player on that squad before Bayno took over.
