Won't Tutu give him a battle? At least Tutu will be a great understudy. Either way, Matt Hayes will likely be at SG where he looked more comfortable to me. He is a sharpshooter.

I have been very impressed watching tapes of Tutu. Having a profile on NBAdraft.net and being labeled as one of the top canadian prospects leads me to believe the guy has some game as well. I wouldnt be surprised to see two guard sets with these too. Brown i say gets the starting nod just because of his maturity and age. Some big time schools were looking at him and I am sure more schools would have looked at him if not for his past transgressions.
Hayes will be in the rotation too i would believe. He will need to become more of a standstill shooter though.

According to Tutu in his interviews, he is coming to LMU to get minutes right away. Other bigger programs offered but he was enticed by playing time. If he's benched Dunlap would be already lying to him.
Tutu should start as should Humphries who is a senior and the glue guy. Haney gets the nod too as the only shooter. Mornar should be the starting PF. As of now Herman is the only guy above 6-9 so he's probably the center.
Hayes, Jacko, Brown make up the bench. Maybe minutes for McClendon as a defender, Johnson in as a bruiser off the bench to combat the shorter guys.
It's a team that has some depth on the wings to hopefully close out on 3s while in that zone. Still need a real center and shooting guard to develop for the future. There is enough here to stay out of last place ahead of pacific and San Diego.

If Tutu does not start the very first game of his freshman year that is not a big deal. Ireland did not start at the beginning of his freshman year, neither did Jim Williamson.
In fact, I am going to make an educated guess that Enoch Simmons in 1985 was probably the last freshman to start the very first game at point guard, and that is only because Keith Smith was injured.
Tutu will get a lot of playing time I am sure and I can imagine him in the starting lineup very soon, but please let's not talk about Dunlap lying to players for something that may or may not happen six months from now.
Go Lions!

I'm very pleased to learn of the Brown commitment. I thought that Tutu and Brown were foundational to any class. You can't play without a real point guard. Having two really good ones - a freshman and sophomore - can be transformational.
I appreciate SLB's effort to make sense of this going forward but I think it's premature. Recruiting isn't done; like others have said I think more is coming. And, if Dunlap has shown anything it is that he is not we'd to anything shown this year. Everyone will need to win their spot. That said, it would not surprise me to see Brown and Tutu on the floor at the same time. Both can penetrate and score. Matt Hayes as a spot up assassin, Haney as a three and Jacko and Johnson as block players fed by Tutu and Brown penetrations.
But, like I said: more to come.
