Good Coach Alert!
CSU's coach is one Larry Eustachy. This guy has head coached Division One BB at something like 6 Universities for 25 years, winning everywhere. Had a little slump around 2000; after being named AP's "Coach of the Year he apparently over celebrated (as in hitting the sauce, attending frat parties and allegedly kissing co-ed's). During his slump he incurred his only 3 losing seasons. Mississippi State gave him his second chance and he recovered and returned to winning games (unlike the guy we gave a second chance to). If CSU beat No. Iowa the road, it sounds like we will seriously challenged again, especially at altitude. Keeping spirits up is essential and everyone including the coach will have to keep focused. If the press works; great, but if it's not cutting it, get back and protect the basket. I know an avid CSU fan, and I'll try to figure out which Rams need special watching. Go Lions!

Lions are 15+ point underdogs tonite in Colorado. Should be a challenge. We need to shoot better than against Irvine. Go Lions!

All I'm asking for is a competitive game and signs of improvement. For me, the biggest sign of improvement would be in the press and transition defense. San Diego State runs the same press we do, except once the ball leaves the first trap, everyone just sprints back and plays scramble defense until everyone is matched up (they also do a better job at taking away the middle outlet but they are also a team filled with length and superior athletes). I think we have the defensive versatility to do this properly, but the players really need to get back instead of running at the ball/committing a stupid foul. Again, if we limit the transition buckets and of course make shots, we should be able to stay within the spread. Lastly, Colorado State likes to play small ball so it will be interesting to see how Dunlap manages the minutes of the four big guys (Herman, Mornar, Jacko, and Johnson).

lmu2015, I think Dunlap is looking for the same thing you mention. I reference his quote form this year's Blue Ribbon publication: "We've got a little of this, a little of that. And that gives you a chance. Size is great, but it goes back to coach Wooden--quickness, quickness and quickness. Defensively,, we just want to flat-out get after people and play up the floor. That's gonna cause us some problems early because of our rotations and stuff. But once we get some games under out belt, I hope that in the second round of the league we'll start to ascend." Kind of disappointing that he doesn't hope to ascend until 9 games left in the season

Dunlap may have found something with his new starters but we have to stay out of foul trouble..
How do you turn down the crowd noise and turn up the announcers?

I like the lineup change too and good adjustment to not press against this team. Good decision by Dunlap so far. Jacko has to be smarter on defense and not commit silly fouls.

I'd also like to note we are not in zone, don't know what the announcer is talking about.
