During the first half, I thought the Lions played one of their worst games on offense this season. We could not even get a real boost from the bench for the longest time. This I attribute in large part to State's aggressive and physical man-to-man defense but also the Lions shot poorly. Then Haney caught on and the rest was history.
Like longtime, I could see the Lions being 8-3 right now with a few breaks but 7-4 isn't bad. Despite playing poorly on offense, our defense was sound bugging State into many hurried and hopeful shots. Our rebounding was good also, but the opponents had only 6'7" guys of relatively light build so I expected that.
Nice to see Humphries back with the team - he adds needed depth and is a bull under the boards for his size.
Jacko and Haney are showing their leadership on offense along with Brown and everyone contributed a bit here and there which added up in the cumulative result.
A good win and good pre-WCC season.
Onto the real stuff now!

Jacksonville State beat Sam Houston State 62-10, out pointing the basketball team, in their loss to the Lions last night, by 2 points, to reach the DI FCS final.

t fails to mention explicitly he's referring to football but otherwise he is accurate.
Astute observation in any case. (Had me going for a minute there)
