Why doesn't the Westchester kid play. Coming from a wining team, the all-state and all-city player should be able to contribute. Checked out his youtube videos. He definitely could contribute - makes freethrows, can shoot the 3, pass, My starting 5 would be Batiste, Jacko, Humphries, Mornar, and Josh S. Check out tyler batiste on you tube. This kid can play!!!

Everybody is entitled to their option. And you know what they say about opinions. I'm not going to sit here and comment after each disagreement or debate with you about who is better. Players with million dollar moves and nickle finishes, hitting the sides of the back boards, air ballin, losing the ball, missing free throws, list goes on ... is not acceptable in most high schools or colleges. Apparently that shoe fits for some of the players? I'm done. I just hope the boys have a successful season !!! Just trying help. But I see people get offended. But it won't be my last post. "HEY DRE I GOT SOMETHING TOO SAY"

I would just think if he was so good he would be more than a walk-on and at least get 1 or 2 minutes. Just my OPINION.

I did not see the game. That and it was against Gonzaga and I really can't judge anything off this since we are nowhere near being competitive with them. We have no size to compete with Wiltjer Sabonis and Dranginis up front.
However if we had Cartright Payne Stewart Levin Siame all hitting their stride right now as vets it wouldn't be a 30 point blowout

I assume these last few posts are sarcasm... Payne and Siame walked out of half the practices and consistently quit on their teammates, that's why they aren't here anymore. And by half I mean half, it was actually 50/50 on if they would make it through a practice. The only guy I miss is levin.
And I don't think you can say guys on this team have quit, and there will be lack of leadership when it's everyone's first year on the team, but there hasn't been a leader since Ireland.

I thought the Lions played a decent game last night. We likely won't beat Gonzaga when the Zag's game is off but last night they shot lights out and we got in a deep hole early. For I while, I was worried we would actually beat the spread (18 0r 19) but that didn't happen. I was especially pleased with Jacko's play - he won the respect of the Zag's announcers and stayed in the game. He stood up pretty well to Sabonis especially on the boards.
For me the surprise last night was Portland's big win over highly-touted Pepperdine. It's clearly time to re-calibrate the WCC teams for me.

and with our next two games at Pepperdine and vs st Mary's, we might be 0-4, but then at least we start getting home games vs teams on the bottom tiers of the conference.

Well lions fans I think we will do well against pepperdine. The boys got some much needed rest. Good luck. Play hard and smart!!
