In 2010-2011 we had Daniel Latimer from Windward - he was a walk on and lasted one season. In 2011-2012 we had Nick Stover from Windward on scholly. He averaged 3.7 ppg in his second season (12-13) but was gone under Dunlap. Nothing remarkable in either player.

In that 2012-13 mix, we also had Taj Adams from Fairfax, 6’7” 195 forward, who literally looked lost on the D1 court. He had led his West Adams Prep team as a junior with 17.3 ppg but did not start as a Senior at Fairfax and scored little. He was one of Max’s major duds as a recruit.

Stover was always going to take time to develop. He is averaging 10 ppg at South Alabama now.

Actually I thought Stover was OK and said so back when he was ousted by Dunlap. I also liked CJ Blackwell, another Dunlap bootee, who went on to be a star in D2 ball in a small school in Kentucky.
I guess my main point was to reinforce Winter's thesis that the transition to D1 ball is a big step, one of my themes also.

And that big transition is what 80% of our lineup is still going through, and the best way to get through it is by playing. The fact that we had 10 guys last game get quality minutes is bad because it means we are 3/4 the way through the season and still don't have a consistent rotation, but ultimately good for the future because a lot of guys are getting good experience.

Unfortunately the future for much of the team is only one more season. As you said, it definitely will benefit Tutu and McClendon for three more seasons and Haney for two more.

We just offered Jack White, 6'6" 200lb SF from Australia who also holds offers from Albany, Boise State, and Mercer. According to verbal commits he has a few other as well. The following is a link to his Aussie hoops page with more info and some highlights. videos. He looks like he is a solid athlete, very lengthy, and tenacious on the boards. Edit: Apparently he has an official visit set at Duke, so don't get your hopes up.ausahoops.com/rankings/class-of-2016/jack-white-2/In other news, it is looking less and less likely that we will get Kalif Young as he just picked up another offer from Marquette, and also has offers from Providence and Pitt, and is currently being looked at by a few other top 25 high major teams.

We offered Jack White a long time ago. He came out to the U.S. a month or two ago and visted Boise State and some other schools but, best I can tell, he didn't come to LMU which isn't a good sign. He looks like a player that would help us.

You're right, I guess he visited Temple, Hawaii, and Boise State in December.

Dont' hold your breath on Kalif Young.
Latest from Zagsblog
MARQUETTE LATEST TO OFFER YOUNG
Marquette is the latest school to offer 6-9, 240-pound senior big man Kalif Young of Orangeville Prep, head coach Larry Blunt told SNY.tv.
Young also holds offers from Providence, Pittsburgh, Alabama, Minnesota, St. Bonaventure and Illinois State.
"Kalif is a very skilled lefty with college strength already," Blunt said. "He has incredible feel for the game and can shoot the ball consistently from 17 feet in, and the pick-and-pop 3. You can throw the ball to Kalif on the block and not only can he score, but he is an exceptional passer. He can hedge on ball screens and even switch out on guards in late-shot clock situations. He's a great kid with a great family.
"Kalif will be a household name before the year is out."
Blunt said Young is in "no rush" to make a decision.
"Their family is taking their time," he said.

We seem to be aiming high - kudos for that! Landing them looks not so easy though...
