Just taking a quick look at the other schools on that list I'm not getting my hopes up for this one. If we do get him, it would hands down be the highest rated high school prospect to come to LMU in my life time, maybe ever (don't know where Kimble and Gathers ranked).
Edit: From CBS
In a statement, Simon said, "My decision is to transfer is centered around playing time. I would like a bigger role as a basketball player. Hopefully, I will be able to find this at my next program."
If having a big role is a priority, and maybe being close to home, we may have a better shot than I originally thought.

I texted a contact about him...Simon knows Assistant Ray Johnson. From the list current list LMU certainly has the geographic advantage- Not sure why USD and SDSU are not on the list.

From ESPN:
Justin Simon 6’5” 185 Class of 2015 Signed: Arizona 5/6/2014
ESPN Analyst Updated 04/20/2015
Strengths: Simon is a rangy point guard who has improved all aspects of his game. He pushes the ball well in the open court, has terrific vision, and his passing is special in the open court. He is an outstanding athlete who affects the game with his length, assertiveness, and IQ.
Weaknesses: Simon has made some progress with the consistency of his much-maligned jump shot. However, he still needs to smoothen out his release and get on balance when squaring up for his shot. In addition, improving his point guard skills (high screen and roll) and not leaving his feet while passing should improve his efficiency.
Bottom Line: Simon is one of the more intriguing prospects out west due to his perimeter skill set, energy, and energy. If his jump shot comes around, his upside is immense.
Commentary: This gem was recruited by virtually all the major schools from high school and would be a real feather in the cap of Dunlap and crew if we can land his transfer. Looks like a big PG with skills to dominate the game when he matures. He will have three years of eligibility remaining in his new school and will have to RedShirt one season. Perfect timing.
Exciting but I don’t think he will come if we drop to DII (Aargh! – you rascal Ronin.) But he would be able to play next season in that case. Perhaps?

2017 Australian guard, Angus Glover committed to St. Mary's. LMU had offered. AUSA One of the main recruiting sites from there has him ranked as the number one prospect for his year. He also had interest and offers from Boise State and Oregon.

The Gaels have a pretty good pipeline going with the Aussies.

These are obviously not related but since neither Simon nor Glover would be eligible until 2017 my guess is that getting Simon, especially with the 2016 red shirt year for development and familiarization with team, would be preferable. Of course, that requires success in landing Simon.

Let's get Simon. He is a stud and would fit in well with our other underclassmen.
A big guard.

Simon visiting Ok. State this weekend and St.John's is also planning a visit. I highly doubt he ends up at LMU.

As I feared Ronin - but his family cannot see him play there. And Oklahoma has terrible weather - tornadoes, etc.

As mentioned in a different thread, Justin Simon committed to St Johns, also, Que Johnson has announced his final list which excludes LMU (Boise State, Nevada, Western Kentucky, Alabama).

Looks like Josh Sykes won't be coming to LMU based on the press release of the signing of the Markusson.

Sykes' stats weren't all that good so I'm kinda relieved that we aren't dropping a current roster player I thought Spiers might be on the bubble but I like his size and ability to score when his game is on
