Let's make that 6 of 8.

Only 8 turnovers isn't bad, and one was on brown early in the game on the back court violation directly after a steal. We have 2 guys on the roster capable of creating their own shots and one is in street clothes.

I'll agree that 8 TOs is actually very good for a game. But my point is that the Lions squandered 6 opportunities with completely unforced TOs. Santa Clara is not a good team and their defensive reactions are very slow. Will it cost them the game? I dunno. Let you know in 17 seconds.

Brown was the best player on the court tonight, he played great defense on Brownridge while carrying us on offense. Not bad considering we didn't have Jacko, Santa Clara has no bigs to stop him, can't help but think he would have torn them apart. Refs called everything a foul all night until Haneys shot, which is too bad. Also didn't really love the shot by Haney at the end. McClendon didn't play well, and It took us way too long to figure out their zone.

Also, that was Haneys best game in conference.

Shamar played a nice game. Tutu had some nice drives to the basket late. Spiers and Humphries didn't do much tonight which hurt. And Matt Hayes had a rough night but he was put in a tough spot. They probably should have let Tutu run the point instead of Hayes in the latter part of the first half despite his 2 fouls. That's when SC got back into the game.

Haney certainly looked like he got fouled on that corner three. I wish Brown would have taken it to the basket at the end. A good team effort without Jacko in the lineup.

A big factor was their number of trips to the foul line vs ours; must have been 3 to 1 in their favor. Guess they just played a cleaner game plus we must be a meaner, rougher group. A whine I know but it makes me feel better.

The Lions played pretty well. Lots of assists and minimal turnovers. Brown was great driving to the basket and with all of his assists. Johnson played a great first half and I love the minutes that Mornor gets. This was another game we should have one. Dunlap made the wrong call with 17 seconds to go. Your at home, down by 2 and Brown has been able to drive the lane all night. You go for 2 to tie and take it to overtime. He draws up a play for Haney who shoots an off balance 3 with a man in his face. Terrible design when your down by 2 at home and you just made a comeback in the last 3 minutes. I am fan of Dnunlap, but this was a bonehead call.

Unless Lions win next two games WCC record will be the exact same as last year 4-14. There an improvement in the non-conference record this year- mostly due to the fact of the cupcake city schedule.
