Pepperdine – Part II
Record: 17 - 11
WCC: 10 – 7
The Waves had a disappointing loss to USF last Thurday in a home game, losing by 10 points but recovered with a 12 point win over Santa Clara despite 3 double digit scorers on SCU (Brownridge 26, Feagin 14 and Hubbard 11). The Waves answered with 4 double digit scorers themselves – Murray, Jr. 25, Davis 20, Haines 15, and Major 11. Edwards contributed 9 also for their 10th WCC win.
Last week Stacy Davis became the Waves all-time leading scorer as well as earning the WCC Player of the Week award. Davis surpassed Dane Suttle's long-time scoring record of 1,701 points, which had lasted for nearly 33 years. Davis got it with his ninth point against USF last Thursday and he now has 1,733 points.

At the bottom of the WCC, we have:
Portland – 6 - 10
SCU – 6 – 10
Pacific – 5 – 11
LMU – 5 – 12
USD – 3 – 13
This week, Portland plays BYU on Thursday and USD Saturday – likely one loss followed by one win for a 7 – 11 record.
SCU has Saint Mary’s on Thursday and Pacific (at home) on Saturday. Maybe a two loss ocurrence for a 6 – 12 record.
Pacific has USF at home on Thursday and SCU on the road on Saturday. Also, perhaps a two loss occurence for a 5 – 13 record.
I conclude this week’s final game vs the Waves in Gersten is a critical game for seeding in Vegas (admittedly with a bit of help from the others). Or is my math wrong? Maybe we are at the bottom in any case.
Let’s beat the Waves in any case and get Jacko back in the lineup this weekend.
Gametime: Saturday, Feb 27, 1 pm in Gersten. (Senior Day)

Ronin - sorry I was late last week but I was marshalling at Riviera and lost my energy.
