LMU has offered Riley Battin from Oak Park CA, 6'9" 240 4* PF (per ESPN). (Or 6'10" 215 per max preps) He has offers from Utah, Utah State, Davidson, American University, Cal Poly, Portland, USF and Northwestern. Currently considered a mid-major prospect, he may grow into a High Major prospect as he matures further. He is the Class of 2018, currently a HS junior, but is averaging over 24 ppg.

This is the kind of guy we need at LMU, but Dunlap's ego wouldnt have any of it. Yes, there are red flags with Paras, such as his sudden loss of a scholly to UCLA. Evidently it was academics but he still maintains not to know why he was dropped. I'm sorry but as a student you should know why. So maybe he doesn't kill it in the classroom for UCLA. Then he barely sees the floor at Creighton. Now the Jays were a very good team and had veteran players at those positions, but it seems to be the competition may have been too high. In my views he would be a very good mid major player in the right system. If LMU is going to play an athletic up and down game, Paras would definitely fit here on the wing. Imagine Haney, Paras and Manuel running up and down the floor? Honestly, LMU is the perfect location for him. He's a Filipino star, he comes back to So Cal by the beach, becomes relevant again. Unfortunately, Dunlap wouldnt stomach any player being more popular than him, especially a guy who quite frankly hasnt proven anything yet. Dunlap really needs players that he feels he can control due to the power dynamic. He's not a real teacher that can necessarily command respect from everyone, it has to be the kind of player that doesnt want to shine above the rest.

Lukewarm on this one Looks like a player that wouldn't fit Dunlap's mold In any case, Manuel would have to leave for a scholarship to open up and I haven't seen any confirmation of Trevor's departure. I'm good if Trevor stays.

He took an unofficial visit to our campus last week. This video is from a year ago, but seems to be a skilled and bouncey 6'9" PF from Los Alamitos. He also has offers from Utah State, UCSB, and Pepperdine.

Hope we can get Eyman.
Ironlion, what is going on with the Doutrive twins? I know one of them already graduated from Birmingham but is still listed as undecided. I thought he was a Pac12 type of talent but if he still available do we have a chance to slide him in ( or suggest a prep school for a year) and then get he and his brother next year?

Just a guess but if not committed by now grades have to be an issue.

Wow, was not expecting him to go D3, this is also a D3 school that went 9-16 last year. Guess he just wanted to be close to home? Don't really know what to think...

Some updates on 2018 recruiting: Jacob Eyman committed to UTEP a couple weeks ago. Dameane Douglas was on an official visit to LMU about a week ago. He is a 6'6" SF who looks to have a pretty good all around game, here is a link to his junior year highlights: www.hudl.com/video/3/6138892/584d1867c124d82f94dbf655. According to verbal commits he also has offers from Northridge, Fordham, Cal Poly, Montana State, and Portland state. He recently transferred to San Joaquin Memorial High School where he will play against better competition (his last high school played in a week division and he did not play a high level of AAU ball). Hopefully he excels against the elite competition and we can get a commitment from him before the bigger schools really go after him.

Douglas seems to have a good skill set - good elevation, good hands, ability to finish around the basket, outside shot and defense. Looks like he has room to fill out and perhaps grow another inch or two. Nice find. Would work out very well here at LMU as SF.

This is exciting, I was a little worried about our recruiting without Morris but this looks like the type of guy we should be getting. Seems to be versatile, strong and athletic, and tenacious. I just became slightly more optimistic about the future of our program.
