Jamie McMullin was a five star recruit coming out of high school.

Is this when Dunlap begins to overthink things? Player like Batemon does well and begins to think - I'm going to get the ball, get minutes, my team, etc. Dunlap decides to make a point about who is boss and goes exactly the opposite way causing confusion. The team struggles through games as they try to figure out on-court leadership - the player mopes, tries his best and ultimately transfers out and the perpetual team rebuild continues. Rant over. Hope it's different this time. They looked good on Saturday. Already bought tickets to Incarnate Word game in San Antonio next week. I know exactly what you mean about Dunlap trying to assert himsel....and I hope it's not correct. Tonight vs UC Riverside will be a telltale sign.

Irelandnepal - I’m impressed by your research on an unusual stat! Douglas looks like an impressive catch. I’m expecting another big with our final (normally) opening on next year’s roster. Texascat - what brought on your comment about Dunlap over coaching? I thought he did OK in the Arlington game.

Douglas is #9 in black. Definitely a solid athlete and someone who will be another versatile perimeter player. His junior year in HS he averaged 35 points, 15 boards, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks per game, but was playing pretty inferior competition. Couldn't find any stats on him for the AAU circuit but he played against some pretty elite competition which is a good sign. For his senior year of HS he has transferred to San Joaquin Memorial in Fresno, who should be one of the better teams in the country. There non-conference schedule consists of the Clovis West Nike Invitational in Fresno, the Tarkanian Classic in Vegas, and the Modesto Christian Classic in Modesto. Other non conference games are vs Moreau Catholic and Salesion, two elite bay area teams. So throughout this season we will definitely be able to see how he plays vs elite competition.
I still would like to see us get a big man as the other recruit in this class to replace Petr, but after last nights game and seeing how well Markusson played, as well as the potential of Zafir, Simmons, and Scott's ability to be a PF, getting another big may not be as big of a need as I thought, and getting a perimeter shooter to replace Haney might be a bigger need.

I'll be reffing the Clovis West Nike Invitational in Fresno next month, hopefully I can catch or ref one of his games and can provide any highlights.

I was at that game! My one and only AAU game ever. The quality of play was pretty much playground quality in my opinion - it was a circus due to the Ball family involvement. I saw Dunlap there and had a chance to catch up with Wyking. Now I know who Dunlap was scouting.

We just offered this guy, don't think we have too good of a chance as he has over 50 offers and says his main goal is playing in the tourney. But as you can see from this video he is an insane athlete. He is also a pretty good player as well, averaging 15 points and 10 boards per game while shooting 40% from three. This his also only his 5th year in basketball.

From the size of the crowd in the gym, he would be right at home in Gersten. I couldn't catch his name - something Taylor? Looks like a fantastic athlete and strong.

First game of the season Dameane Douglas went for 36 points and 12 boards on his way to player of the game in the NorCal Tip Off. Great start to the season for the LMU commit.

Douglas is continuing to put up big numbers... In the next two weeks his team (San Joaquin Memorial) will play in 4 elite high school tournaments including the Nike Invitational, and the Tarkanian Classic. All of these tournaments are well covered on social media so there is hopefully some good news and a lot of high lights coming soon.

Put up another 30, they play Clovis West on Friday in the semi-finals. This isn't "elite" competition he is up against, but these are some pretty good teams and in four games this year his low point total is 31, safe to say he is off to a pretty good start to the season.
