Assuming Gonzaga doesn't lose to Texas, they will come out of this week having a lot of people thinking they are a top 10 team. Saint Mary's has looked good too, if they beat Gerogia I assume they will remain in the top 25. Our schedule is looking more difficult as the season progresses. Portland State was a game I had as an "expected win", but after seeing them hang with Duke (and have a lead into the second half), and lose to Butler by 2 in a game they should have won, that is also looking like a much tougher game as they are being projected to win the Big Sky. If we can go 2-2 vs Portland St., Washington, Oregon State, and Boise St. then we will be looking really good. ESPN BPI is currently giving us a 6.7% chance to beat Boise, 22.2% to beat Oregon St, 19.4% chance to beat Washington, and 51.3% chance to beat Portland st. So winning 1 is expected, but two would really be great. Also, at the beginning of the year we were projected to go 8-21 by ESPN BPI, they have updated their projected to 12-17. So still not great but we are definitely trending in the right direction.

lmu - thanks, very interesting. slb - yes quite a game. I fell asleep at the end and awoke to see the 2OT loss. Williams will play in the NBA. Perkins is a star and Tille is a very athletic center who can shoot the 3. Zags are good but as you note not deep. Expect Zags to remain top 25. Saw some Pepperdine and they did not look good.

Hate to break it to those who thought the Zags would be down this year, but they are a top 10, maybe better team.
Having seen them and st marys this year on multiple occasions, the zags will coast through the WCC. St marys really misses Rahon. They really havent looked the same as last year, all year so far. The zags have studs all around and a young nucleus that will just get better as the year goes on. Last night they took arguably a top 3 team in the nation to double OT and were a made free throw away from winning it.

Zags are a legit top 10 team in the country, and they proved that last night. Very curious to see where both them and Saint Marys are in the top 25 tomorrow. On the other hand, Santa Clara, a team that some people thought could be a dark horse for a tourney team, has fallen off a cliff. They lost to D2 Alaska Anchorage yesterday, and then got whipped by a pretty bad sam houston state team today which brings them to 0-4 on the season vs D1 teams, 0-1 vs D2 teams, and 1-0 vs D3 teams. If they turn it around, hopefully it comes before conference play, because if it doesn't any loss to them will be a "bad" loss, despite the fact that they were a consensus top 100 team, and even ESPN gave them like a 20% chance to make the final 64 at the start of the season.

Thanks to everyone providing time good updates . Unfortunately my work schedule has wrecked my ncaab viewing so far but WCC action has been interesting. Santa Clara is a real shock but Sendek tends to get things going in conference play so we'll see. I caught the standings and noted that San Diego thus far has handled their easy schedule. However I see that as an improvement on prior seasons . BYU definitely looks vulnerable, but our real nemesis tends to be San Francisco. Has anyone seen them?

Gonzaga looked poor for large swaths of their game today.

Hachimura is coming of age. Bulldogs host Incarnate Word in their next game.

Gonzaga looked poor for large swaths of their game today. Wow tough crowd. They were playing another top 10 team led by an excellent coach and a top 4 NBA draft pick. I think gonzaga looks very good to start the season Meanwhile St Mary's lost again. Have to see them not making the tourney or being ranked again this season unless they beat gonzaga in March

Zags played well offensively last night in a game marred by horrid officiating (fouls called seemingly every possession). They also couldn't stop Nova and gave up too much in transition. Based on last night's evidence, they're not a top tournament contender this year, but could make an Elite Eight run.

San Diego just beat Colorado. They are now 8-2. Colorado is supposed to be decent. Looks like they will be fighting for the 3 and 4 spot for sure in conference.

Colorado and New Mexico State both road wins for SD. Great for the conference.

USD is for real — apparently they have added some excellent transfers to their core.
