UOP Pilots - Part II
Record: W 7 - L 17 WCC: W 0 - L 9
Leading Scorers:
M. Shaver Jr. G 15.3 J. Walker G 12.2 J. McSwiggan G 10.6 F. Porter G 6.5 T. Diabate F 5.5
The Pilots are clearly the bottom of the WCC. The Lions beat them 76-64 in Gersten but we are on the Pilots turf Saturday and they have shown signs of life recently. Will this game be Dunlap's Steve Alford moment, especially if we get drubbed by USD?
Gametime: Saturday, Feb 9, 7 pm in Portland. Video: TheW.tv

I'm torn, as a fan I want the lions to win of course but for the future well being of the program I almost want to say that I want the Lions to lose so we can get rid of dunlap. The off chance Dunlap were to get let go, I'd be really curious see who transfers if any from the team. Id be willing to put money on the fact that our players wouldn't transfer because their desire to play and their loyalty is with the university and not with coach dunlap.
We shall see.

Nbd, I feel the same. I will never root for the lions to lose out of respect for the players, but I really don’t think CMD can take us to the next level and think it’s time to move on. I find it hard to believe that he will get fired after a 20 win season, but every game we’ve played against a top 75ish team has been a disaster...

Agree guys. Hoping ADCP sees the quality of play at these games rather than the record.
Side note, I'm hoping to attend this one, which would be my fifth WCC gym (including Gersten) to catch a Lions game in. Anyone else know their gym count?

Six current gyms, plus saw games in our own Alumni Gym and USD’s on-campus gym from the early 90s prior to the opening of Jenny Craig.
I haven’t been to Gonzaga, Pacific, BYU or Jenny Craig. Of the six I have seen in person, the nicest and best layout, I felt, was Portland’s Chiles Center. 5,000ish capacity, with seats going all the way around (including behind the baskets).

Lions are favored by 8.5 on the road. My guess is we won’t cover.

Portland has some really classy fans- it’s too bad the program is in such disarray. They never should had Reveno go.

Imagine if the lions were allowed to play a run n gun (fun) type of offense. We’d be damn good and fun to watch.

I went bankrupt in WCC Pick'em betting on the Lions to win last Thursday.
Lions played very well against the Pilots, one of their best games of the year. Petr continues to contribute, which is great. Batemon was on his game and Quintana contributed timely scoring. A solid win going into our toughest week of the WCC season - Gonzaga and a revitalized BYU.
