Aimless dribbling and crap over and over again

Do the refs automatically just start calling fouls against LMU. Many of the calls were questionable. Really hurts when the fouls are doubled.

Refs definitely against us but there is no way we should lose that lead and the game. Really disappointing end to the season.

We missed a ton of easy shots in the 2nd half.

People talk trash about Romar which I get. But Dunlap couldn’t draw or call up a play to score in the last five minutes? What does that say?
This why I ranked Romar higher. Better recruiting and with better players can overcome your deficiencies to a point. Bummer for Batemon, Herman and McClendon. Would be shocked to see CBI bid at this point. Best team since 2010 and Dunlap can’t do anything with it.
Fire Dunlap.

We missed a handful of easy layups and free throws. Cost us the game. I agree, some questionable foul calls at the end. We just don't know how to win. Last 3 minutes of the game, it's the same old story. We didn't rebound and couldn't come up with a play to get an open look. The last 3 possessions sum up LMU basketball.

Mercifully for the Lions, their season is over. This has to be the dullest 20-win season I’ve ever seen. And some of the losses, like tonight’s are simply inexplicable.
To the Waves credit, they played very well. It was a completely different team from the one that flopped and floundered to their victory over Pacific. As I said earlier, we would win unless the Waves hit their 3s. Tonight the Waves hit their first 5. They cooled off after that but still hit enough to win. They deserved the game.
The Lions on the other hand ... were flat out bad in the second half. Allowing open 3s with a team that has to shoot threes to win. Listlessly standing while the Waves went after rebounds. Ignoring their big man way too many times. And there’s a reason CMD’s offensive game plan was always to pound the paint. If these guys aren’t inside 5 feet, the ball has little hope of going in the hoop. And does CMD know what that little white board is for?? I knew putting Christensen in at end was futile. First of all, the guys been iced on the bench the entire night. But worse than tha was knowing he’s only capable of hitting a three if he has time to set up and that requires a play and at least one screen — completely foreign concepts for our erstwhile coach.
I could go on but yieew, what a mess. And I’m afraid we’re stuck with our coaching wizard for at least another year. I need another hobby.

This has been my favorite team in CMD five years. They play hard and seem to be fine lads off the floor. Very disappointing way to end the season - but I’m pretty sure Lions will play in a buy in tournament.
Looking conference play, after 5 years CMD is at best a .500 coach. LMU has invested a lot of money into the program and to me .500 isn’t good enough. Unless we land some great recruits in next few months I see another losing season next year.

I’m sure everyone would agree that this has been CMD’s best team. But his previous teams have been pretty bad. Five years in and he still can’t get past the first round of the conference tournament. And he has some rabbits to pull out of his hat to find some replacements for the key departing seniors. It’s hard to forecast next year as being better, and it could be worse.

Tough way to lose. The Lions played well but the Waves played better. Cody Ross is very good and won the game for Pepperdine. I’ll miss our Senior players and wish them well in post-season play if thats in the cards and certainly in life after LMU.

Wow, what a painful loss.
I think anyone from this board could have told you that Pepperdine can shoot. Yet, we rolled out zone after zone after zone, and they punished us.
The rebounding at the end was abysmal. I haven't seen that from our team this year. Consider that on one late possession, we fouled pepp for a 1&1, they missed, loose ball foul on Markusson. Second 1&1. Make the first, miss the second, they grab the rebound. They miss. We finally clean up. Last defensive possession, they take a horrendous shot, but we can't rebound. Same guy cans a three, which is basically a death sentence to a Dunlap team, since he has no plays to get our shooters open. How can we not grab any rebounds at the end of the game?
Finally, I tried partying with the guys last night. Dunlap instructed them to not go out. He sat in the @$!#ing lobby, like the manager of a u14 boys soccer team, trying to "catch" people leaving the hotel. Dude. Let them breathe. They are human being, not basketball robots. Win or lose, they deserve to have a night out after the season ends, as does any other team. Get this guy out of here.

I think Scott was on the bench for the final several minutes of the game when we couldn’t rebound. Not a good decision.

The Waves are on fire. Twelve 3s so far tonight against the Dons. They’re playing well.

The Waves are on fire. Twelve 3s so far tonight against the Dons. They’re playing well. Not surprising to me. I already wrote this. Romar. First year in the WCC after 30 years. Recruits strongly and does enough. He knows that this will always be dangerous in the WCC tourney. Meanwhile Dunlap is burning the candle at both ends to be a first round exit. I don’t fall for Dunlaps constant twittering about how smart he is. Very inefficient. It’s even manifested in their style of play. Amazing that despite them being in the same age ballpark, Pepperdine is playing a more modern game. Dunlap is a wannabe Boheim.

Romar first year has been more successful than five for Dunlap.
