WCC Women have a great showing this year. Gonzaga and BYU are in the field of 64 and Pacific, Pepperdine and Saint Mary’s all join our Lions. I don’t remember a stronger showing by the conference. Congratulations to all 6 teams, but a special call out to our ladies. Go get em!!

Any thoughts on the NCAA Tournament?
Saint Mary's put together a respectable showing against Villanova. Weird season for them. Very quiet, lost some non-conference games they shouldn't have lost or at least it seemed. But by the end of the year it turns out they played a really tough Non-Conference schedule. They just didn't win those games.
Check out who they lost to
November Vegas tournament Utah State (MWC winner) 80-63 Mississippi state (at large) 61-57
They lost to UC Irvine at home 80-75.
Another Vegas trip lost to LSU 78-74.
Added in that losing was Harvard at home (NIT) and at Western Kentucky.
Wonder how they will fare next season. They will need to replace the big man in the middle. But Ford will be back and so will Fitts and Krebs. They should rebound. How is their recruiting?
Meanwhile, Gonzaga was impressive against Baylor. Yes, I know, it wasn't a blowout. But that's the kind of team that gives them fits. They will play a Baylor 3.0 in Florida State who got them last year. Big rematch, this time at the Honda Center. FSU is going to be tough on the Zags. They really dominated the heck out of Murray State and while Ja Morant looked very good, it seemed as though it was much tougher on him than it was against Marquette. Perkins can't have a bad game. He's going to need to be the Perkins that played against Duke. Also Rui needs to show up. They can get to the Final Four if they beat FSU because Michigan doesn't look that scary.
Lastly, when can LMU get their own Ja Morant? I'm not looking for 4 star players. I'm looking for guys who will blossom once they get there. I feel like that's going to be Pepperdine in our conference. Think about other local guys that blew up in college. Paul George, Kawhi Leonard. Spencer Dindwiddie. Delon Wright

I think this must have been mentioned here before, but Russel Westbrook was actually committed to LMU. His dad wanted him to wait till spring to sign, but by then he blew up and UCLA came calling.

I never knew that about Westbrook. I thought he had an average showing at UCLA before really soaring in the NBA as did a number of other UCLA recruits.
