Terrible coaching, terrible passing, terrible shooting, no off ball movement, no screens, and ultimately no fun.
What a joke. Who would want to come play for us?

Why isn’t petr playing after playing for ten seconds in the first half? Why isn’t dame our best player talent wise playing?
Why the hell is zafir playing? What is going on?
Nobody can shoot not even our “shooters”
So sad

We are the bigger team, we can’t draw fouls, we can’t shoot, we can’t finish at the rim

Couldn’t cover the spread of 1.5! Poorly played game on offense but I’ll take the win.

I'll take it too. Made it harder that we needed to, but spurts of decent play especially on D. Demeane is going to be great next year and excited to see Mattias crush it after another year of development.
Hopefully we can put a more consistent performance out there against Brown!

always interesting to see how teams come out in play in the post season tourneys that arent the Big Dance. I tend to believe the team that wants to win more does in these... That being said, i dont think the Lions wanted to win that one more, but got lucky in that they played a far inferior opponent. CMD did not have a great game which really hurt. Kind of agree with NBD though, pretty boring style of play. Tough for the players to be offensively engaged.

Not the most exciting game but survive and advance. Looking forward to the next game- Brown is very good team that beat SDSU earlier this season.

Think we wanted it more in the first half (that was a pretty solid defensive effort out there) - We just didn't keep up the intensity throughout the game. Hopefully its just rust with the break from the WCC tourney. Would love if we could win this thing

Very happy for the team. Way to be clutch, Mattias!!
It is the first time we won a game this year when Batemon failed to reach double digits, he finished with six points and we were previously 0-3 in those games. Remember, the CBU head coach previously was Bennett’s top assistant at St. Mary’s so I’m sure his mentor gave him an excellent scouting report on how to shut down James.
Our style may be boring to some of you, but remember defense usually wins in the postseason and since we’ve been playing this style all season I think it is a big advantage. We held CBU 23 points under their average.
I’m very curious to see if the Brown game will be at home or on the road. Entering the tournament we were ranked 142 in the NET ratings system and they were 145, so essentially a tossup. If we are at home I really like our chances.

Their 6'7"" guy took Mattias to the hoop numberous times so maybe we went smaller quicker to deal with their quickness. We should have won by 10 but we need to make shots. Good looks. Terrible shooting.

Didn’t feel this warrants a new thread, but, today the WCC added men’s water polo as a full time sport, adding Air Force, Cal Baptist, and San Jose St as affiliate members. I still don’t think the WCC should add Cal Baptist as a full member, at this time, but takes us one step closer if and when the time is right.

Gives the WCC the Phoenix market, and a rather rabid fan base (and great facilities)
