NIL payments - the game is changing for the worse in my opinion. I 100% agree. All it does is make what coaches like Calipari, Few and the “always getting all-Americans” coaches do now ‘legal’ even though they’ve been doing it for a long time. Like most professionals, a lot of college athletes no longer have loyalty to a school but to a paycheck. “Oh, this school is offering me double the NIL money? See ya!” But this is the result of the NCAA’s eroding power….basically just a pro model before the “pros”. Hard to hate on an athlete for following the money.

I was going to mention this after the season, but the scary part for me is that we have very few players coming back next year. So many seniors and fifth year players graduating. Next year will have to be a complete transformation. Just Harris, Johnston, Lewis and McBride, correct? And Ristic. I still want to focus on this season. If Dom is back for Vegas, and if we can hold onto seventh place, we can definitely beat San Diego or Pepperdine and make some noise in Vegas. No covid years are still a factor I believe for Wright, Graham, Alex, Rick, and Tatiz. All have an additional year if they want to use it. Plus Rick redshirted his 1st season at Oklahoma.
