Hahaha, Steve Aggers was an X and O's coach! That is the funniest thing I have heard in a while. He got good talent but never used it right, He always had the hot hand on the bench for 10 minutes at a time if they weren't a starter. He sucked. Give Max a chance, these guys love playing for him and it shows.
By the way, Bill Husak, being the worst AD, is a little unfair. Yes our basketball team is down but that is not the only thing he has to worry about. We are consistantly at the top of the commisioner cup standings and we have not had an NCAA scandal. Secondly he has had to come in and still deal with the Gathers incident. What many of you don't know is Gathers and Kimble hurt us bad. They were recieving payments while at LMU and as a cosequence, the administration cut our budget and up until recently, we have not been at full capacity as it relates to budget. If we want to see a huge improvement in the basketball team people need to open their check books.

Bo hurt us too? I thought it was just Hank's mom who sued the school for his death. The first time she'd set foot on campus since his death was in 2004 (?), when the team was inducted into the LMU Hall of Fame, wasn't it?

04 - Aggers was known as an x's and o's guy. There's no doubt that he was one of the best prep guys in the wcc. It was his relationships with players that was his big knock. along with graduating his players his x's and o's were probably his biggest strength. "he sucked." you can do better than that, can't you? who was the "hot hand"?
Your right about budget limitations that have hindered basketball's growth and development. Thorow in there with $$ the academic restrictions and limiting 'special admits' and I believe those are the two biggest issues with LMU basketball's failure to win.

Aggers may have had a playbook filled to the brim with screen-the-screeners and Wardrop iso plays, but during games, his pacing/fidgeting made him look like he was awaiting an HPV test from Daniel Freeman. This combination of anxiety and helplessness likely undermined whatever Knute Rockne halftime quote/ 1-2-1-1 press break he tacked on the corkboard.
Maybe we could have been north of .500 if Aggers had strolled to Whelan before any WCC home tilt, so that he could take the edge off.

To set facts straight, I am not Dr. Husak, just a dedicated (and sometimes frustrated) fan of the LMU basketball program.

How do you all feel now after our wonderful win over USF? Would any of you go back? Don't you feel the momentum of the team and the coaching staff? And our recruits - the best in the WCC? And our Redshirt transfers? This is now a quality program. Keep those chins up!

You will come around with a few more games, especially next year. The WCC seems to be getting weaker (except Gonzaga) and we are getting stronger. I don't think anyone is looking forward to playing us in the WCC tournament this year - we have nothing to lose!

What a coward you are, ihatehusak! You accuse someone of hiding and yet post scathing criticisms without identifying yourself. If you are really interested in getting a new AD, go about it the right way.
1. Conduct a poll on this site to see how many have the same thoughts as you. If the number is substantial, take some action by: 2. Schedule a meeting with Husak and tell him what you believe and why you are out to get him fired. Ask him to defend himself. 2. Scheduling a meeting with Lane Bove, Husak's direct report, and air your complaints. If the result of this meeting is not to your liking: 3. Schedule a meeting with David Burcham, the university Provost, who is Lane's direct report. If that doesn't work: 4. Schedule a meeting with Father Lawton.
Do you really think that your attacks are going to do anything good? Be a man (I think that is your gender) and voice your opinions in public.

Well said oldestlion. I emailed comments to the website several times and Husak always answered with considered and thoughtful responses. In retrospect, his statement on Bayno's departure (perhaps seemed like plain vanilla at the time) is proving to be quite valid and appropriate. He showed respect for Bayno's personal problems and acknowledged his significant contributions to the program in his short tenure. I don't know either man personally but I have the utmost respect for both and Dr Husak's earnest communications with the community of interested fans. If you don't believe, send him a note from the link on the LMU website.
