I am not sure! I went to vegas this year and plenty of us bet on the wcc tourney games!!! I think since it just was the host hotel they may have not allowed to bet those games for the sake of the players and staff

It would be pretty funny to walk by the sports book and see your head coach placing a bet.

Part of the WCC deal to go to the Orleans was that they hotel would not have the games in their sports book.

The over all response that I have seen on from the boards on the WCC boards that it was a great success. I can't wait to make it out there next year.

The atmosphere seemed to be good for the game. There were not a lot of people for the first games but more than I thought would be there. I was talking to Bill Husak and he told me the WCC had a one year guarantee with a 3 year option. I don't know who has the option or if it is mutual. But the tournament was the first sell out of the year or in a year( I kind of forget, was a little buzzed during this convo) It seems that the tournament will be there next year and the WCC has a lot of leverage. The venue was really nice.

By the way, Garibay was there and he seemed to be having fun. He was talking to the alums. He is a big kid but needs to put on some more size.

Looks like a great venue for the players and fans. But LMU 04 - sellout? - I saw a lot of empty chairs on the webcast of the LMU game. Maybe, Gonzaga-St. Mary's sold out? Did you buy Garibay some nachos with cheese (to help his size issue)? Seriously, thanks for the report.

wrschnicke - the WCC sold out all the "all game" tickets they had. So, anyone with those tickets could go to any and all the games (men's and women's). The empty seats you saw were people from other schools that had bought all game tickets but didn't want to watch our game (can you blame them?). A lot of Gonzaga fans didn't even show up until Saturday or even Sunday.
Speaking of that, Gonzaga fans seem to be all over the joint. I would guess that 70% of the fans I saw were from Spokane. It was crazy. (I dream that when LMU has a legit chance to win the thing that our fans will show up in even 1/2 the numbers of Gonzaga.)
But all and all Vegas was a very well done affair. Everyone was very nice and friendly to the other teams fans - it was a really good atmosphere. If the WCC keeps the tourney in Vegas - it will only get more popular. The Orleans Arena may not be big enough for us in a few years. It will be a nice problem to have.

Thanks for the clarification stillalion - that is reassuring. Sounds like there is no reason not to return - except $$$ if that becomes an issue.
