But with homecoming in the air and the Lions hungry for a comeback we could be seeing the makings of an upset.

This game is far from impossible. NMSU just barely beat Pacific (74-76), a team that is par to LMU. The Lions definitely have a shot in our house and with a great turnout by the fans. I'm sure the coaches and players are ready for the challenge. We just have to get the offense/scoring back on track. Knight cannot carry the team on his back!
I can't wait! GO LIONS

Here's a piece from LMU's official preview.
UP NEXT The Lions will face their first of three possible WAC opponents on the season when they host New Mexico State on Nov. 17. It is the first meeting between the schools since the Lions upset the Aggies in the first round of the 1990 NCAA Tournament. The Aggies hold a 5-3 edge in the series as they enter the ninth all-time meeting. Against the WAC the Lions are 71-65 all-time, facing former WCAC members Nevada and San Jose State for the majority of those meetings. New Mexico State started the season with a win over Pacific on Tuesday, winning down the stretch 76-74. Guard Fred Peete led the team with 19 points as four players scored in double digits, including 18 points and nine boards from forward Justin Hawkins. New Mexico State was picked to finish second in the WAC by both the media and coaches.

I think there's going to be another huge crowd for this game. I've heard from a lot of people pumped up for this game not detered by a disasterous tour down south.

I wish I was at Gersten for tonight's game, but I'll have to settle for watching the game at home here in Louisville.

Even worse for NMSU is they are going back to Las Cruces, New Mexico!? If anyone's ever googled that "town" it's literally in the middle of nowhere! This win was great. We needed that after the complete thumping by MSU and with ORU showboating about with that win against KU .

My ears are still ringing from the noise Gersten was making!
The star of the game besides that diety like Worthy was that blue-headed cowbell guy. This game deserved MORE COWBELL.

Worthy's miracle shot was #1 on Sports Center tonight!
TIVO or watch it at 2am the countdown is towards the end of the show. Great media coverage for the Lions and Worthy. ;D
The first half was pretty much de jevu. The lions were not getting baskets or rebounds from those many failed shots. Very flat on the offense and NMSU was just having their way with us shooting 3's.
The offense got a little better before the close of the game and of course just exploded the second half while NMSU fell apart thanks to some great defense on the lions. We held the scoreless for nearly 10 minutes!
Worthy really came out guns a blazin' with 28 points, crucial rebounds and steals, and the jawdroppingly amazing miracle shot.
The attendance I think came in around 3,500 which is great for a homecoming, improved over ORU's crowd. The students were pumped and the fans were ready to support the Lions even when it looked like it was all over. The noise and energy of the fans still amazes me.

The students were pumped and the fans were ready to support the Lions even when it looked like it was all over. Credit to the LMU fans and the Roar, after homecoming's halftime show I figured the pavillion would clear out as it looked like the Lions were toast. But there actually seemed to be MORE people during the second half, still cheering on the Lions until we closed that huge deficit. An awesome sight, and wish I could find my digital camera.

golions were you able to catch the video on CSTV! I watched the whole game. I had a feeling that we were good for a comeback when we whittled the deficit to 9 right after RT was ejected.
