The thing troubles me is fans spreading rumor in hope to have their ego fullfilled. I read some of the comments here and afterward I thought "mmm, am I just getting an earful of your ego now? " Not healthy for the program and not cool as a person. lmu, Don't try and distract the board with "ego" type entries. The reality is that the Men's Basketball program is a complete DISASTER. It needs an overhaul and Tension needs to get the door. We are 5-23 this year. THAT IS PATHETIC. NO EXCUSES for that and fans, boosters, and students have a right to complian and start pointing fingers. We are a complete embarrassment. So don't go trying to get this board off on trival things when there is a SERIOUS ISSUE with our program that needs to be addressed.

the truth is that I am getting an earful of your ego. Yeah, I am calling you out, dude. Where were you when I was telling off that zags fan? You were asking us to back off from him. You have absolutely no sympathy for our coach, players and administration yet, you allows a zags fan showing us off on this board. Yeah, be a real lions fan. The truth of the matter is that I want the team to win more than I want the RT or anyone to be fired. You, dude, take the opposite stand. All you've been posting is how bad our team is and how RT and Husak should be shown the door. I don't believe in drawing line between us. Know who your enemy is!

LMU, YOU are 100% correct. We are not talking about winning and losing here. We are talking about attacking people personally without having the facts. And yes, players have sat this year for various infractions within the program. So RT does have discipline and holds players accountable. Bottom line, the results this season are not acceptable. And the coaches also know that better than any of us. IMO, we just need a couple of players. But to call a kid a "bum" without knowing him and just because one saw him come in at 11:30 is BS.

Seems like people are agreeing with me now, while lmu is trying to be the mother theresa of this board.
Admin Edit- It is ok to disagree but no inflammatory name calling.

As such, I will return the favor. Its Lions fans like you that are not demanding enough and settle for the constant status quo of being an "average" program. You are as pathetic as Husak's indecision making. Yes, I am calling you out. 5-23 = pathetic. 5-23 = action needs to be taken. 5-23 = players not cutting it in the coaches system or the coaches are not cutting and instructing properly. 5-23 = boosters getting inpatience with the "wait until next year" attitude. 5-23 = loss revenue for the Athletic Department because of decreased attendance at home games. My primary frustration is that next year does not promise anything better than this year. Gonzaga, St. Mary's, USD do not lose any stars. Santa Clara continues to get better over the season. Tension has no flexibility or ABILITY to bring in a quality big man. He has a recruiting strategy of a bunch of guards. 2009-2010 is the only "promise" we have to replenish with a new big man. Get a clue, lmu......you are either a puppet for the administration/coaching staff or absolutely bind to reality. And you are dead wrong....there is no sympathy in sports. If you want to try that card, why don't you go ask our opponents to spot us a 10 advantage at the beginning of the game because our coaches and players are so pathetic. I think you will get laughed in the face. Get a clue, dude! When is the last time the sympathy card was played in sports. Frankly, it is quite obvious that you have less basketball intellect than zagfanforlife. Zagfanforlife is telling you like it is. You obviously have a challenge for understanding reality.

I agree we've got serious work to do to improve this team but next year does promise to be better let's be real there my friend! We lose Kanne and Ziri but we gain three new talented freshmen and all of our current roster comes back with a year under their belt. So things are not trending down but yes I agree we need more mojo than that if we want to WIN the WCC and get dancing which should be the ultimate goal.
I have my idea of what could get us on the track to competitiveness. I do not know if it is possible or will work though. What I do know is it doesn't help us win or change direction to start winning by throwing other fans under the bus. How does that help our... well let's just call it... dire situation?

That's what I thought too. RT would have sit Mason down if he arrived late for game or practice. Plus, nobody really knows what their class shedules look like...Mason may have a late morning class, you never know. The thing troubles me is fans spreading rumor in hope to have their ego fullfilled. I read some of the comments here and afterward I thought "mmm, am I just getting an earful of your ego now? " Not healthy for the program and not cool as a person. "lmu" the game was on a saturday... Did he really have class? Comments like that reflect your illegitimacy. I'm not saying he was late I'm trying to make the point that players should go above and beyond what the coaches ask of them. For example, If RT wants them there at 10AM The players should get there at 9AM etc. As a person Mason is a solid guy and has a bright future in whatever his major is... But in the realm of basketball he is not showing me much, that's all I was trying to say so don't read so much into it. To respond to your "ego" comment... I really don't care what you have to say about me or LMU Lion's basketball in general. You get into pitiful arguments with strangers on a message board (Zagsfan) who clearly know more about LMU basketball history than you do. But whatever, I'm not gonna argue with you because it'll just waste my time. Have a good spring break

You may have a point, I probably went too far when I called them "bums" but keep in mind I was trying to address an issue by providing an example albeit not the best one because yes, I do not know if they had a team breakfast or whatnot. Maybe he just went back to his room to get his shoes. Regardless, the situation at hand is that we suck and I personally do not feel like our players want to win. LMU has settled for mediocrity once again and it pisses me off. I'm not sure but can anyone answer if this the worst season we've had in school history?

LMU has settled for mediocrity once again and it pisses me off. quote] lmu2008, you hit it right on the head. MEDIOCRITY has set in on LMU's Men's Basketball program and that is squarely on the shoulders of Husak. RT cannot recruit and letting him go another year or two only hinders our ability to rebuild the program. Fans like "lmu" let this mediocrity continue and ACCEPT it. We need to demand more from the Athletics Department. This program is lost. The administration knows it, but does not address it. It is unbelieveable that RT is still there considering such a pathetic year and a terrible winning percentage over the last three seasons. Enough is enough. Time is ticking. If Husak cannot make a decision, then he should be fired as well. I am sick of this attitude of status quo and not making ways. We need to take risks. If you don't take risks, you will never reach the top.

Fanblade....we will have to agree to disagree. Next year does not look better. One more year under these current players belts does not give me promise. There has been very little improvement seen over the course of the year for any one player. Performance has been relatively constant all year long. We have been CRUSHED in conference. Game in-game out. These players or not learning from their mistakes. The coaches are not instructing the players appropriately or the players have complete disregard for the instruction. Next year will will not have addressed our big man troubles. We will remain a perameter shooting team. Perameter shooting teams cannot consistently win. 2009-2010 is the soonest for a realist change (that is if RT can recruit a talented big man this year). Sorry, but those are the FACTS. I am not twisting reality. There is no benefit to do so. I am a Lions fan and want us to dance, but realistically we are way behind the other WCC programs.
