hiring back Paul Westhead as coach.
Watching the LaSalle game on classic got me thinking. Pepp brought Asbury back.
Granted, PW had mixed results with the Nugs and George Mason, but he was very successful in the ABA with the Beach and in WNBA with Phoenix.
It's not like the program can take a step backwards at this point. And he was successful here. Brian Quinn is gone and Husak really needs to make a statement with his next hire (if he has one).
Just a wild scenario as I always like Coach W talking to him along with his staff.

I don't believe it will ever happen.

I think bringing Westhead back would be a great idea. The man can coach and attract talent due to his style and fame. Look at his WNBA record to see what sort of success he had post LMU. Unfortunately and this is just backed up only by innendo but with the current administration we have (not Husak) it will be extremely unlikely Westhead would even be sniffed in any coaching search.

It would be great to have Westhead back, but one must understand that his LMU teams were stacked with freaky talent. You need really skilled players to pull off the Westhead system. For instance, UC Riverside tried to run a similar system a few years ago and didn't win a single game until they ditched out of it for a more conventional, half-court-oriented attack. But all of this said, watching that LMU/LaSalle game last night really made the idea of brining him back enticing.
