Last season the LA trip was very sad for the Broncos. I hope it goes that way again this season.

Pretty much. It is very disappointing. We actually did a lot of things technically correct. We were passing the ball and getting looks the problem was that nothing was dropping. I think we are seeing what happens when a team is demoralized from mounting losses.
We sauntered onto the court already looking defeated and the open shots were not connecting just sort of the sleep walk daze that has haunted us all season. There were some bright spots but just not enough energy or heart to last the entire game. It was a game we could have won and should have had a lot more swagger.
We've just got to be more aggressive for 40 minutes.

The only thing that made this game relatively enjoyable was the ROAR crew. Their heckling made me almost forget the score.

Another 20 point conference loss. THANKS Rodney for the ongoing embarrassment. And thanks to Husak for letting it continue.
NO NEW BIG MAN until atleast 2009-2010 season. Rodney, your recruiting strategy is ridiculous. You made your bed and are lying in it. Have a good rest and don't wake up until you are willing to resign.

I've got to say, you may be right there. The only "big man" that RT has brought in is Max, and he's still completely raw and timid. Marko's way too much of a finesse, Nowitzki style player. Sweezy, although he clearly has heart, is a small forward, at best. I'm not sure if Sutton was injured or not last season, since his bio simply says "redshirted" while Sweezy's said "redshirted due to medical reasons," but regardless, when you know that your entire core is graduating, why would you keep a player grounded for a year, only to give him a baptism under fire with the rest of a freshman heavy team? Also, the fact that Ziri has such a minimal role shows that this team is officially all Tention recruits, and the results are clear.
I've said from the beginning of the year, and back to last year, that this team can't shoot to save itself, and here we are, losing by 20, while shooting 30% as a team. That's pathetic, and makes me wonder what the heck Rodney was thinking when he put Jenkins on redshirt, when with his stroke, he really could have contributed. What we should have done tonight was go right after Bryant, getting him into foul trouble, then attacking inside when he was on the bench. Instead, we kept lobbing terrible long range jumpers that were all falling insanely short.
And, I'm sorry, but seeing RT sitting on the bench, completely resigned halfway through the first half makes me lose quite a bit of confidence in him. He clearly cannot motivate this team.

Grasping for positivity one of the good things about this season is at least attendance has been okay considering our performance. We haven't dipped below 1K. I'm glad the students are coming out. We had more people for this game than last year's senior night. Now if only we could give fans something good to watch. I'm not sure if Sutton was injured or not last season, since his bio simply says "redshirted" while Sweezy's said "redshirted due to medical reasons," . I thought it was reported that Sutton was nursing a back injury last season.

And, I'm sorry, but seeing RT sitting on the bench, completely resigned halfway through the first half makes me lose quite a bit of confidence in him. He clearly cannot motivate this team. I talked to three sets of parents of current Men's Basketball players on Saturday night and they have lost faith in the coach. If the parents have, that means their sons have also. The parents I talked with said the coaching staff NEVER takes responsibility for the losses. It is their game plans that continue to fail. It is obvious that theses recruits THAT Rodney recruited DO NOT FIT his system. Wake up Rodney take some responsibility. It is obvious that Rodney is a very inexperienced head coach that has yet to learn his way over the last three years. I want to see those of you on this board that has been playing down my opinions of NO IMPROVEMENT and insisting to keep Tention & Co. What faith should I now hold on to when we keep getting run out of the gym by 20+ against conference opponents. We are well on our way to a 25+ season loss total. That alone would tell someone that THERE ARE MAJOR PROBLEMS with our program. It is somewhat difficult to gauge the potential of some of Rodney's "most talented" players because we are never battle tested. One of the only way to see how skilled O.J. is to have him play in close games and be able to take over. We NEVER are able to see our team tested to hold or battle for the lead. We are completely taken our of games consistently before half time. Rodney, you have very limited days left at LMU. It is about over. If Husak doesn't get to you, Husak's successor will.

I said I would stay away from this board but this one has just got me. Who are these parents, I don't agree with this approach, if a parent has a problem call and talk to the coach. Stand up and be accounted for don't talk through a booster or an Alum speak for yourself or better yet have your son speak for himself? I can tell you this I don't support this type of stuff about our staff or players here on this web site. Come sit and talk to me and I will tell you players need to learn RT's system and quit whinning although I think we shoot to many jumpers and don't go to the whole enough but thats all part of the learning process. This is the 1st year of RT's recruits does he get time to get them to learn the game or is it supposed to be ONE on ONE basketball, Sorry teams win games. Lets stop and give RT his time to right the ship.

Despite what everyone believes, I did see improvement on this team, especially in the turnover department, we had only 10 tonight and 14 against SMC. Shots just weren't falling....players are still kinda rushing shots. At least we got turnover under control now, this is going to be key to our future success. The shooting touch comes and goes, we just need to be more consistent shooting the ball.

With SCU's big BIG MAN, why did we go with such a small lineup? 3 guards, Sweezy and Diedrichs? Why weren't we FRONTING Bryant? And then getting weakside help? Letting them pass the ball into him is a recipe for disaster. And IMO, based on my experience as a high school coach and having a son who played D1 baseball, D1 coaches DO NOT want to talk to parents. They try to avoid parents. If there is a problem, the coaches want the PLAYERS to talk to them. Definitely not the parents. And as a coach and a parent, I understand and respect that.

We all still think Husak is doing a good job with the basketball program? I mean I took a lot of heat for posting that he needs to be canned. But I think this game is a clear indication of why his coach hirings are not working out so well. Bryant is 6'10 over 300 pounds and we have no one to defend him because CoACH T has no recruited a big man that plays anything resembling defense (or offense , besides Diedrichs).

Coach T's recruiting is BISSMAL at best.

Why am I not surprised that lionspride takes up for this d-bag.
And Bissmal? Do you mean abysmal? I'm no grammar nazi, but that's ridiculous.
Don't let your hatred of this program cloud your ability to communicate.
