Good games going on around the WCC. A close one against #25 SMC vs USD and Portland is on top of #24 GU at the half.

Is the SMC and GU game on TV? First time meeting of two ranked WCC teams ever. Should be interesting if the Gaels are still not all injured.

This is a fun game to watch. San Diego is looking very good. The home court advantage angle annoys me but there actually looks like more GU fans there than USD fans! Ha.

Well, well, well.....USD first year head coach makes it to the Dance. Bill G. congratulations! USD congratulations on playing descplined basketball. Also, Kudos to USD administration for making a CALCULATED RISK in firing BRAD HOLLAND with a year remaining on his contract and bringing in a new coach. So enough with the being "olitically correct"and waiting until the WCC tournament has been complete. When are we making the announcement HUSAK? Tuesday will be perfect and you will not have taken anything away from the WCC tournment. Please make your comments about the firing of the coach with the backdrop of the view from the bluff. Please don't have cameras in Gersten. That may drive away any candidates.

To think that Grier was on our short list 3 seasons ago... oh, what could have been.

I was extremely happy for the USD win. Let's hope the WCC get three bids this year.

3 WCC teams should squeeze into the field. USD may be a play-in team, but let's hope not. I think the WCC teams could create some upsets in the first round.

Lionspride, USD as a play-in team might be the most ridiculous thing you've said on these boards. And that's saying something.

lmutex.....if there is no other upsets in the smaller conferences.....I think the committee will not respect the 21-13 USD Torreos and a 3rd place finish in a mid-major conference does not help. As such, there is an outside chance that USD may be the one of two play-in teams.
P.S. - If my other posts are ridiculous, then what is LMU 5-26 record? What do you call Rodney Tention's 3-year DI coach record of 30-62? What do you call someone (like me) that thinks LMU needs a new coach because the current coach's record is not getting it done? It seems to me that you and the others on this board that don't deal with reality of our program and want to stand firm with Rodney are RIDICULOUS.

There is no way SD will be the play game. Come on now... give the WCC a little respect.

P.S. - If my other posts are ridiculous, then what is LMU 26-5 record? . Be still my heart! No chance that USD is the play-in game. That spot is always reserved for low major auto bids. I am not so sure SMC will get in the dance. They deserve it but does the committee care? Should they care? No. The spot seems likely to be filled with some mediocre BCS school that has friends on the committee. SMC will whine but at the end of they day no one will be listening. Hope I'm wrong but 3 bids makes a little bit too much sense to actually happen.

M.V.L. - you're right....the committee doesn't care, that is why USD may be a play-in.....remember....they finished 3rd in a mid-major conference. Who cares about the record....3rd in a mid-major and you are in the dance. That is a #15, #16/play-in seed. USD is a play-in seed possibility IF and ONLY IF there is no major upsets in the smaller conferences as we inch our way to the Sunday Selections. The Committee may do this to add some pain to the WCC because we screwed another major conference team from getting to the dance. St. Mary's should not be denied.

Your lack of knowledge here reflects why your calls for RT's head are met with crickets. No one wants to deal with an irrational and misguided fan thinking he knows what's best for everyone else.
Lionspride's reply detailing our record, lack of big men, and RT/Husak's inability to tie their shoes, much less run a team in 3...2...1...

lmutex....stop being Rodney's posting assistant. Anyone would tell you that LMU Men's Basketball has problems. That is why Husak did not attend the pre-game LMU WCC Tourney party at The High Dive. Husak cannot face the heat. I know that there have been other individuals writing letters to Husak other than myself about the situation. And considering we were run by nearly 20 points in a first round match was absolute reality of how bad the program is.
When the LA Times and other media outlets are calling your schools AD to get comments on the status of a coach who is guiding his team to a 25+ loss season tells you that you have problems. My opinion of getting Rodney run is logical and based on the bottom line....winning. Any reasonable media outlet, basketball analyst, basketball insider, or fan will tell you that it reasonable to assume the coach is on the firing block due to his performance. If you cannot respect or grasp that, you are another "stay the course/make no waves" LMU fan that has put up with 8 of out of the last 11 WCC tournament first round losses. I guess the aforementioned is satisfactory to you. For me, it does not sit well.
It seems as if there are more and more critics of Rodney everyday on this board. If you are so confident about your "keep Rodney" stance, put up a poll and lets see where this board stands now that the season is over.

Completely off topic, but speaking of the High Dive event, isn't there a problem when a Catholic university has chicken wings, chicken fingers, and pepperoni pizza catered on a Friday in Lent? I found that kind of amusing.
