Lions get this, the crowd, Knight, Miller, Martin, too much for Waves to handle. Who knows even Grubb might pump out a shocking performance in front of his former supporters.

Unfrigginbelievable.
We still haven't won a game since Worthy went down. 4 tough home losses in a row......even one against pisstank Pepperdine.
Hitting the Grey Goose already......

A pretty embarassing outing. 25% shooting in the first half? Pepp had no answer for our inside game and it didn't look like we did either. Too many mistakes to list, a very ugly game that we should have walked away with a big win from.
The Lions have been successful in hitting rock bottom it'll be hard to move on from here as we had our best oppurtunity for breaking the streak tonight.
One positive was the number of students and fans that came out to the game. Despite the 7 game losing streak LMU still showed up for the rivalry. Sadly by the time we come back to LA to take on Portland (our last hope at a win) Gersten will likely resemble a ghost town.

Not to interupt all this doom and gloom but the game was not a complete disaster.
Yes, the first half was shameful but the Lions came out roaring the 2nd half. I don't think it'll be impossible for us to piece together a winning strategy soon. 8 consecutive losses is like a sharp stick in the eye (especially one at the hands of pepperslime) but the season has room for improvement. Keep the faith lions! It's not over until the Pepperdine cheerleader sings.
Oh and Alert2 that story pales in comparision to a scene I witnessed. Me and some buddies were coming onto campus after bar hopping in Santa Monica around 1am. There was this roaming band of goofy looking "riptide" goons flipping people off as they drove by drollinger. 1am? Are you kidding me, either these twirps were so clueless it had taken them 3 hours to locate their car or they are just truly pathetic. I guess when you live in Malibu standing around in the cold is a fun night.

My game thoughts on the men's are game…
Can we please have two good halves of good basketball?
My opinion might not be popular but we didn’t deserve to win that game.
Damo is a great player but he should never have the ball in his hands for the last shot. I would rather have Miller, Monty or even Counts take the last shot.
Can the coaching staff please show potential recruits the how many beautiful girls go to LMU. If the did I think OJ Mayo and Kevin Durant and Greg Oden would be in Lions uniforms.
My game thought on the women’s game…
Amanda Patton is a baller…she pulls 3 pointers from NBA range
We have a very strong team and they deserve more support.
Go Lions!

I've talked to the AD and he feels the biggest "recruiting struggle" is Gersten. GP's got character but does not compare to some other WCC/SoCal facitities. The athletic's department is working on fundraising for a large scale update to the Athletic offices (which are desperately needed!) and more updates to GP but that will take years before enough cash is raised.
I still think LMU has enough cachet to make things happen now.

More lopsided halves (one a pure unadulterated mess the other very decent). LMU doesn't have the confidence to win. We are doing okay keeping up and applying pressure when we're down but can't keep a lead or gain the advantage.

"You're from the ghetto, we're from Malibu, WHAT!" trying to act like thugs. The ridiculous irony of that statement is that Pepperdine spent millions of dollars to build a campus in the "ghettos" of Westchester. Someone's a little jealous of LMU's location on the westside. Road teams had a lot of success this weekend all across the WCC. GU over UP, SMC over USD, and SCU over USF all road victories tonight. Looks like GU, SCU, and SMC are lined up for WCC leadership.

I love the rivalry. I'm glad to see that it is still alive and well! Now I know that most of this stuff is said in the spirit of rivalry but you're fooling yourself if you think THIS is the case:

Hong's article is really poor. As I stated on the PU board the worst part of the article is clumping together the tragic death of five our students in this article.
Pretty poor taste...
Go Lions!
