I've always (tried) to defend the Loyolan, as these kids sacrifice a lot of their free time to write for us. But Ms. Hong needs to be replaced and I wrote a letter to the Loyolan saying as much.

You are correct that the Loyolan writers sacrafice a lot. LMU is one of very few small schools to produce a bi-weekly paper and it is mostly of high quality. Sadly some of the garbage Hong has been pushing out is giving the Loyolan sports page a bad name. I hope the editors hear your call.

It's nowhere on the website as far as I could tell, but there was a letter printed today that goes after Hong for going to absurd lengths to prove her point (eg the 5 deaths), and accusing her for trying to convey that the team should give up for the rest of the year, while also insulting the school's legacy.
I'm glad to see someone else actually gets it.

yeah, that was me. Normally, I'm not "that guy", complaining for the sake of argument, but I was incensed with certain liberties that the stroy took.
If anything, maybe Ms. Hong will now use her noggin before going to such absurd lengths in her pieces.

I think the Loyolan is a fine college paper and still read it even though i graduated in 2000. But Hong's articles really are very poor. Good job on writing them LMUTEX.
GO LIONS!
