I too like our JUCO recruits. This group seems to have solid measurable records without the standard inflating that we humans are prone to engage in while constructing resumes. The last coach that employed numbers of JUCO guys here was, as I recall, Charles Bradley (gasp). But this year we actually seem to have truly scored the cream if the crop. I will bite my tongue and refrain from (amusing) quips unless the "Dunlap the Great" crowd prematurely restarts their chants before we see results. If and when that happens I will try to blend in with crowd and help lead the chants. Looks like he is getting the player parts, time to see what he does with them.

thx - thanks for the data. I note that his sophomore stats include 13.6 ppg while playing an average of 17.9 minutes per game. Normalized to a 40 minute game, his average would be 30.3 ppg. Impressive.
Also, his team was knocked out of post season by Santa Rosa, which was Matt Hayes team I believe? Perhaps, Matt knows Adam?
In either case, Dunlap is garnering players who come from winning traditions which I like.

Here's another nice reference on McClendon, described as "the best unsigned guard in California" before he committed to LMU. lmulionsroar.com/?p=3163Be sure to read the last reference to an article by "alonso..." Jeffery is an impressive young man, looks like a real winner and a great add.

We're looking for a big man inside, how about one of these guys? We'll see what Dunlap is really made of, eh?
Some top unsigned prospects in the ‘bigs” category that I wouldn’t mind see in Gersten (in a Lions uniform that is):
1. Thon Maker, 7’0” 210 Center from Canada
Scouts grade: 97, 5-star
Offers: Arizona, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Miami, Missouri, SMU, Stanford, Texas, UNLV, Virginia
Maybe he knows Munis Tutu???
2. Ivan Rabb, 6’11” 210 Oakland, CA
Scouts grade: 95, 5-star, ESPN top 100
Offers: Arizona, Cal, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA
Relatively “local” boy???
3. Cheick Diallo, 6’9” 225 Centereach, NY
Scouts grade: 93, 5-star ESPN top 100
Offers: Pitt, Kentucky, Kansas, etc.
4. Caleb Swanigan, 6’8” 275 Fort Wayne Indiana
Scouts grade: 94, 5-star, ESPN top 100
Offers: Kentucky, Arizona, Cal, Duke, etc.
5. Stephen Zimmerman, 7’0” 230 Las Vegas, Nev
Scouts grade 93, 5-star, ESPN top 100
Offers: Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, Arizona, UNLV
6. Diamond Stone 6’10” 250 Milwaukee, Wis
Scouts grade: 95, 5-star ESPN top 100
Offers: Oklahoma State, Maryland, Connecticut, Wisconsin
Hey, this is a better list to compete against, no??

Actually Thon Maker is an Aussie. He will most likely be entering the draft.

90045, thank you very much for sharing McClendon's story. Definitely a strong foundation and a great head on his shoulders.

Just curious, would anyone have an idea of his salary at St. John's? Curious how WCC Salaries compare.

Wonder if we can get one of these guys? insider.espn.go.com/blog/jeff-goodman/insider/post/_/id/4899/top-10-transfers-and-complete-transfer-listI don't know if anyone knows Lonnie Jackson, he's coming off Boston College as a graduate, ready to play immediately. He is originally from the Valencia area, played AAU for DoublePump...maybe someone has contacts or has information? Seems like he'd by a third talented guard. There is also Austin McBroom who played at Campbell Hall. Good creator a very good three-guard rotation and let Tutu develop and compete against some guys and have him win the job over vets. Then there are a couple former recruits, Wesley Saunders and Kenyatta Smith who are graduating from Hahhhvard. Wonder if they would be interested in coming here to get MBAs or something and playing out a year?

That's a big list slb! I wonder if any of the bigs are good athletes? If so, they'll be highly sought.
