It's all Humphries to me. He runs the offense the best. Evan is so athletic he gets to spots so fast that if he needs to dish it out last minute, Flint isn't very adept and just beating his opponent to the ball. However, when Humphries is in, he just snatches it, and restarts the offense, waiting for people to pick their sports. Then Chase can operate in a comfortable space for him and then he can pass and be unselfish.
Once those guys get their act together, they can actually feed Mornar, Okonji and Egbeyemi in rhythm.
What I am understanding though is Dunlap's future goals. I don't see him trying to recruit any great players, just balanced players that can handle the ball, run some offensive sets, and then look for shooters. Also be willing to rebound and play defense. His twitter is all about finding shooters. I see why he's not a star's coach because that would ruin his philosophy of control.
Time will tell how that plays out though as the WCC becomes increasingly competitive. Despite being a one-bid conference, they are ranked along with the American and Atlantic 10 in terms of power. I think its a conflict of goals that I'm going to have to consider. Do I want to see LMU start to resemble a team with an identity or do I want to see them hit a homerun? I'm not sure which one gets us past BYU, St. Mary's and Gonzaga into the tourney, because that's what we're looking for to happen. But, can his style beat San Fran, San Diego, Portland, Pacific? Absolutely. It goes back to what Lions90045 said about it being a coach's league. It also goes back to my point about a coach trying to win the majority of those games and then stealing some from the top of the conference.
