I saw this also although there was no info on Verbal about our "offer" to them. Nice that we are recruiting Florida State-class players. I think Verbal only gets its info from Social Media rather than from an internal team of sports "experts."

Oscar Lopez, Jr.2019 (HS SR) Lynwood, CA committed to Depaul. I think LMU was a bit late on getting involved and his stock really took off. Ironically his nickname is "The Lion". Pepperdine and SD had also offered.

Excepting any possible transfers, the Lions have only 3 Seniors leaving next season. While some of the above guys were clearly talented, our real need is at PG, where I expect Dunlap to dip into the JC ranks again for an experienced player. Cameron Allen showed flashes of brilliance last season and might be able to handle the PG position but he needs to get his game more consistent and under control. Joe Quintana might fill in at PG but that's not his natural position and I'm unsure of his ball handling if he has to control the game. Sam Antonio looked pretty good on his highlights tape at SG; I'm sorry that we're losing guys to Fullerton (maybe they showed more interest).

Hard to recruit when you have lame duck coach. Maybe Dunlap needs another extension.

10/5/2018 - 2019 PG Jordan Brinson (6-2, 165, 4★) committed to Missouri State.
Highly rated PG from Westchester HS choose Missouri State over LMU is not a good sign.

2019 class Finnish PF Mikael Jantunen ('00) from HBA Marsky has committed to Utah. Picks them over St. John's. Jantunen averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.3 blocks at last FIBA U18 European Championship Division A in Latvia Final two schools for Jantunen were Utah and Loyola Marymount, per his coach Hanno Mottola. well, the connection is that Hanno Mottola played at Utah, so I'm sure that may have been a factor

I remember LMU played Utah when Mottola on the squad...I think Utah actually lost to Kentucky in the national championship that year.
