WUMBB appears to have used 17 players last season. Team averaged 59 points per game. I can’t find their record from last season or any other stats.
Should be a decent warm-up session versus players other than Lions like has been happening in practice. Don’t expect much drama but it will be interesting to see how the new guys fit into team play this season and how Petr is faring in his return.
Gametime: Tuesday, November 6, 5 pm in Gersten. TV: TheW.tv (per the LMU website)

Can’t wait to see how we look tomorrow! Curious to see the new players and Herman, in particular. Go Lions!

This game should be nothing more than a game where everyone gets to play and score, and we win by 50. Always fun to see the lions in uniform for the first time, but this really should not reveal anything to us.

Ive been keeping a close eye on the lions over the past 30-60 days and here are my few takeaways.
1) The lions are not a great shooting team, since this is the case we need our bigs to be able to score on a consistent basis so they give our perimeter guys some room. With that being said, Mattias' skills have not shown any real improvement. He is tall and takes up space but is not athletic and does not have a post move he can count on. He also lacks strength for being a 5. Unfortunate but it will the be same ol same. With a team like Westcliff he can camp out near the key and just reach over guys, however against legitimate D1 competition he will get pushed around and not be able to establish any position or rhythm. Dunlap ranted and raved about Petr when he came on campus saying that he was a NBA talent, we all know that is far from the truth. Petr doesn't seem like hes really improved after a year off from injury. Unfortunate.
2) Offensively we are going to have to lean a lot on Batemon and Eli (if coach dunlap allows). Besides these two we don't have any guys that can take over a game and put the team on their shoulders. Eli's shooting looks like it has improved quite a bit out to the 3 point line. We will see how he gets used by Dunlap. Batemon I think should be a 1st team all WCC as long as the lions can support him. He has been overlooked thus far because of the Lion's inability to be a decent team overall which unfortunately impacts his perception from the coaches and public.
3) Erik is our only pure shooter on the team, im curious to see how dunlap will use him and make his life easier to help us score and get some breathing room on offense. He is not an athlete but is a good shooter when his feet are set. We need to run some plays for him and get him some space
4) Jordan Bell looks like a bigger more clumsy Zafir Williams. We will see what happens.
5) Not sure what all the hype about Ivan Alipiev is, haven't seen too much from him yet.
6) Jeffrey Mclendon and the rest of the returning lions all look like the same players.
it's going to be a long season.
5)
Im not too positive on this season. GET DUNLAP OUTTA HERE!!

By most metrics, scoring points wasn't the Lions problem last year. The Lions were, undoubtedly, helped in this regard by their ability to hit the offensive glass. This trend should continue. Whether this proves to be a good year or more of the same will be determined on the defensive end of the court. We know McClendon is our leader here and more than makes up for his offensive limitations by being a (the?) TOP defender in the league. After him, the jury is out. I do think the fact that Matthias and Petr have 10 fouls to give will allow each to play with a little more aggressiveness. Hopefully, they have learned to rotate more quickly to defend penetration. As far as defending the 3 goes, I don't see anyone standing out. It would be huge if Douglas is a plus player in this area because he has the length and quickness to pressure shooters in a way that we haven't in a long time. I am looking forward to see who has taken the biggest step forward - Quintana is my wild card here. Cameron Allen too might be a different player having a year of D1 under his belt. Go Lions.

Another embarrassing crowd to start the season, this is what happens when you play schools nobody has ever heard of...

I don’t care what the score is. We look terrible. No rhythm No ball movement. Absolute trash

Offense doesn't look great, very little movement/fluidity on offense. A bit concerning considering who we are playing... Hopefully they pick it up in the second half.

Dunlap is an absolutely terrible coach. This is the “basketball genius” we have had the pst four years.

Where is Eli? I thought I saw him out of uniform in the bench but could not spot the Lions as they left the floor at halftime This is not a well oiled team at this point Nbd’s comments on Mattias and Petr look accurate from what I’ve seen so far Hope play improved before our next game
Loudspeakers are way too loud and there is no beer yet!

Eli Scott was not on the bench during the first half and I did not see him on the court during warmups.

No Scott ? Sadly, the most interesting part of this game. Quintana out for the second half with a knee injury

Dunlap working on ridiculous double inbound passer plays from under the basket rather than focusing on running his offense. What a joke

Gonzaga is on TV vs Idaho State After watching for 3 minutes, I can say the Bulldogs would have wiped the floor with the Lions team we saw playing Westcliff today. The Lions even mid-spelled Westcliff on the ticket as “West Cliff” (2 words). Late in the game the scoreboard operator lost track of the players on the court and showed 00 Scott as in the game with one rebound although Eli wasn’t even in the building. Not a smooth running program right now.
