Also, I missed the first 32 minutes, but Markusson did not play the last 8 minutes, Quintana barely played, and I know McClendon is still injured. Strange game.

Nice to get this stinker out of the way before WCC play. Not one Lion played well. That said we are 11-2. Zags and USF look like the class of the conference. After that, I think we have as good a chance as anyone to come in 3rd. Looking forward to McClendon getting back in the lineup and also hoping Eli can return to the form he showed last year.

Heard most of it, Know Quintana took a hard fall in the 1st half, probably slowed him in 2nd. They were all over Batemon the second he touched the ball. Then somehow they distracted our big guys, Markusson and Herman, although in Paters csse it's hard to tell. Good to have Douglas back and look forward to McClendon's return. Concerned about Cameron , what is the buzz on him again anyway? Hope we got that out of our system and that Dunlap doesn't get nervous and return to some of his old ways.

Joe took a hard fall and was nursing his lower back in the second half. Seems pretty obvious that cam is probably transferring. If he was hurt he would be on the bench. Transfer in December he can play in conference the following year at his new school. Probably discouraged by Joe’s great start to season and not seeing opportunity for minutes anytime soon. On a positive from this game dameane played great. Smart player and has great instincts around the rim. Should turn into one of our best players over the last ten years.

Thank you everyone for the update. Hope Quintana is OK and yes, good to get this one out of our system. And I agree Douglas is the real deal. With all the missed free throw’s we really didn’t deserve it but it would’ve been nice. Good learning experience.

Don’t let Batemon breathe, keep Markusson from getting close looks, ...... we’ll see a lot of this during conference play. Douglas is improving and Quintana will contribute some but this Lions’ team is pretty easy to prep for.

LOL...if there are those on this board who thinks Allen's situation is being "discouraged" by the great "performance" of other teammates. Think again. LOL! Focus your attention on what happened to the great performances of the LMU personnel today. Who creates shots beside Batemon. There were only 46 shots taken by LMU. What you have is European style personell with spot up shooters that do NOT shoot that well or consistently. You are winning games by essentially maxing out the shot clock, limiting the possessions of opponents, and hoping Batemon can manufacture points. What's the contingency plan for when Batemon is not in rhythm or unable to score...like today...like @ UCLA?? So, if you have a staff that that recruits slower, non athletic players that have no ball handling skills or the ability to create shots...you MUST then play a slow, painful to watch brand of ball. Now, couple that with the low team morale and a university culture that does not CARE about basketball. You have give away alcohol , food or gift baskets to attract even minimal crowds(that are at the bottom in WCC attendance). But what is most concerning is the FACT that there is turmoil and VERY low morale. I know for a FACT that players and staff BOTH have noted that the morale within this program (after a record 11-1 start) is as low NOW as it was last year when the team was regularly losing! Does anyone see the faces and demeanor of the kids? These young men should be excited and enjoying this experience!

University culture does not care about basketball? Bove and pittens were at the game, Snyder is in the cheering section most games. They do care about the program but attendance won’t happen overnight. Joe will be a very good player for our program for the next 2 plus years and was going to take cam’s minutes. Yes, we over rely on Batemon to create offense which will cause us to lose games if he isn’t making his shots. Riverside milked the shot clock almost every possession and we didn’t control tempo of the game. 11 and 2 going in to Christmas. Thank you santa!

Gathers44...LMU is a one trick pony!If you were to game plan for LMU, what woud you do defensively? Easy question. The fact that lanes are consistently open and there is no denying Batemon of the ball and match up zones aren't implemented, speaks volumes about the lack of preparation and game planning by these supposed D1 programs and their coaching staffs. Does anyone look at the game tape and chart the turnovers and bobbled dribbles down the stretches of close games when other guards must handle the ball when Batemon is denied or needs a rest? Role players play roles...they don't make plays...you CAN'T isolate them and tell them to CREATE. The culture here will burn out it's star from over usage. I petsonally talked to Coach Few and some members of his staff. He refers to Batemon as "LMU's high usage kid"! Think he will have the athletes and coaching common sense to plan for that? What coach in his right mind (unlike most of these incompetents LMU has played so far) would not SIMPLY make someone else on the LMU roster beat them?

As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with nbd's comments about Dunlap's roster decisions. After almost being lost on the bench most of the season, Johansson and Herman get big minutes in this game. Ivan doesn't play. Mattias, who scored the Lions first 8 points in the game, sits the final critical 8 minutes. I think such erratic decisions about the players status is not helpful and can damage morale. Plus, we may have lost a talented player in Cameron Allen. I hope things improve in coming games or this season could collapse.

We'll go wherever JB5 takes us. As good as he was against Boise, he was just as bad against Riverside. I know, I know, his teammates offered no help today, but he frankly looked disengaged, like his mind was somewhere else. At least we defended well at the end.

lionlife - was Allen a good buddy of Batemon? If Allen has left, that may be troubling Batemon.

Cam Allen was a 2 star Juco kid with little to no other D1 offers and if he leaves LMU will almost certainly end up at a DII, which may be best for him so he can have type of ball dominance he was never going to get at LMU, or for that matter, any other D1 school period. Let's not get carried away.
Let's also not say that Quintana was better than Allen, that is a ridiculous statement. If Allen bounced it was because he wanted to play a way that Dunlap didn't want him to and one thing we know about Dunlap is NOBODY is going to win that war. I watched enough games, saw the body language and frustration. I have been VERY complimentary of Allen and stated he is easily the second most talented guard in the program, in fact perhaps even All Conference material, but the reality is he has/had no leverage AT ALL. Don't think at this level of basketball leverage is not an issue when it comes to playing time, green light and freedom of expression. When kids transfer in, they got you. Some may know what that means. Best of luck if he left and hopefully he can find a home where he can express his game to his, and clearly others, satisfaction and more importantly get that paper. Good luck......Also, team is 11-2...everyone chill and be happy.

i think everyone keeps saying "relax we're 11-2" but I think its important to understand that records aren't necessaril an accurate representation of a teams skill or ability. Take away the Bethesda game and we are 10-2. If our game against CCSU and Boise State dont go in our favor (due to other variable because they were such close games) we are 8-4. We need to make sure we understand the level of competition we are playing against. USF will destroy us if we play like we did against Riverside. how can dunlap a 5th year coach be so rash, indecisive, and completely lost a from a coaching and personnel perspective? Its actually quite sad.
Look at how Quintana has been given the green light over the past couple games. Imagine if somebody like Cam was given the greenlight. I think Cam is a WAY more talnetedd player that Quintana is ANY day of the week. Dunlap just likes players who follow him blindly and will listen to him like a child does his parents. He does not care about putting the best product on the floor.
rant over. happy holidays everybody
