After watching the Waves the two recent games, I would be OK if Dunlap “couldn’t coach” the same way Romar “can’t coach.” Remember two top Wave players are not available. The Waves will be a terror next season.

I don’t have much first hand info on Romar. I’ve read the comments on this board and when I watched the game against Pacific, I thought the Waves were a mess and figured that’s a result of folks’ criticism of Romar. But after watching the Waves come back to best the Lions and then whip the Dons today, I’d be more than happy to see Romar’s coaching over CMD.
San Diego up big on BYU in the first half

Wow, I wish I had watched the San Diego-BYU game. I just read that at one point San Diego was winning by 44 points, 69-25!! I don’t think BYU is going to get a NIT bid now. Ha. Couldn’t happen to a more smug institution.

I literally turned on the TV and saw the St. Mary’s team and fans dancing at center court as the announcer was tossing it to SportsCenter. How in the world did that happen??

Best thing Dunlap did all year - pave some of the road to beating the Zags. St. Mary's slowed it down, forced the Zag guards to try beating them, and didn't turn the ball over.

Zags looked totally out of sync by the end of the game. I never expected Gonzaga to play that poorly. Great win for the Gaels! Who will be dancing. Will the Zags retain their #1 seeding or their #1 poll position?

Sucks to be upset by rival but it might be what zags needed as a wake up call before the big dance.

It's fantastic, imo, that SM won. Two teams in the tourney is glorious!
90045, I'd predict they hold a #1 seed, but not as #1 overall

Losing probably is the best thing that could’ve happened to them. It’ll make them think and apply themselves more. Personally I think their biggest weakness is lack of depth. Tillie gives them a very solid 6th man, but there’s not a lot else. Crandall has had good moments but he’s not consistent. A player gets hurt or has foul trouble or has a bad game, and Few has limited options. Witness what happened tonight when their shooting guard was abysmal. Somewhere along the way over the next month, that’s going to bite them.
Meanwhile, congratulations to the Gaels and the WCC for getting two teams into the tournament. If San Diego had been healthy all year, I think they’d be going too.
