Bell is entering his senior year, no redshirt. Did he sit out a year when he transferred to lmu?
I'd actually hang on to most of the team. Don't think we'll be able to totally rebuild this summer, and I see the current core (if healthy) as a competitive bunch. Didn't see much from the freshmen group, aside from Pepe and Dos Anjos, but that's not unusual, and not necessarily predictive of what we'll see going forward from the young guys.

Quintana - Scott - Douglass - Pepe - Markusson, under a good coach, is a strong lineup, with Alipiev and Bell coming in off the bench.

Bell may have come from a lower level program - he did not redshirt Dos Anjos has to learn finesse when shooting under the boards but he is young For my money, Zivanovic’s dribbling is very weak for a guard And Dortch didn’t live up to expectations on offense but rebounds and plays “D” These are the three weakest players right now in

Transfer list from verbal commits, shows Bell and, of course, Markusson who graduated, are eligible immediately but not Jawara. I cannot explain the criteria for Bell being immediately able to play for another team. Any info out there?

Bell played at NW State in 2016-2017. He sat out a year so this would be his fifth year in college coming up. I am assuming he'd be a grad transfer with instant eligibility.

Thanks - that explains it. I didn't remember him sitting out a year at LMU?

Terry Porter is being kept as coach at Portland.
From Hoop Dirt:
In his four seasons as the head coach at Portland, Porter has put together a 37-92 (.287) record, including a 9-23 (1-15 WCC) mark this past year. During Porter’s tenure, Portland has gone 7-61 in WCC play, with a 1-31 conference record over the past two seasons.

It’s always good to remember what we have (albeit not much in the bb world for the last six years). Things could be worse for us.

I think they are still also paying for an assistant Bob Cantu who was fired last year. I feel pretty bad for Portland fans.

Any names? I'm quite sure Stan the Man is going to be very active in the transfer market.
Also saw ANOTHER Santa Clara guard (David Thompson) has entered the transfer portal. He doesn't look like a big loss but that is three guards this week jumping Sendek's ship.
