I love the activity. That's a lot of offers in two days. I wouldn't neccersarily agree that most of these guys have a totally different scouting profile. Most don't seem to have too many big school offers. What I like is that it seems once Johnson got staff together, immediately went after these bunch of kids. My guess is a lot of previous relationships.

It is likely that there will be no AAU this summer which should honestly work to our advantage. A lot of these 2/3 star kids have interest from WCC/Big West schools their junior year, then they have a good summer and before you know it the P12 is all over them and they forget the WCC and Big West exist. Look for a lot more kids to stay under the radar this year, and for a lot of the smaller schools to benefit from this.

Add another one. Offer to Jahmai Mashack out of Etiwanda. Including Cory Coffield from L.A., I think that's ten offers in the last 3 days. I dig it. Seems like this staff really has a recruiting plan and are gonna go hard, compared to Dunlap, who got one good freshman last year by accidently playing against him.

I was just about to post regarding the offer to Mashack. Long time Lion fans will remember his dad Elton played for LMU. His dad turned down a lot of high major offers to come to LMU- hopefully his son does the same.

Yes, I also was going to mention Elton Mashack from the 90s. His son is reportedly a fantastic wing defender with an improving offensive game.
Absolutely love the action, and I do agree that all of these offers, coinciding with the announcement of the coaching staff, most likely equals a lot of previous relationships.
Let’s remember that Coach Stan himself had recruited Markus Howard to Arizona State and was able to woo him to Marquette when he took that job. I’m not expecting an All-American, but it shows that players are loyal to Coach Stan.

These are all amazing young men. Hope Coach Johnson can lure them in with the idea he’s building something special here in L.A. and they’ll be a part of it.

Oh, man, that just made me feel old. Had two summer session classes with Elton when I first transferred to LMU! Super cool and friendly guy. I distinctly remember him telling me how much he loved being at LMU! Can't hurt our chances?

Maybe also an offer out to Tyler Powell, from Ribet Academy, which is right down the street from me.

During the past couple of years, I've reffed several of these players during the high school season. Ribet vs. San Gabriel Academy, Etiwanda vs. Westchester and others, with all these teams having players that are being recruited by LMU. During each game, I found myself wondering, why wasn't Coach Dunlap and LMU recruiting these players. I'm so glad and relieved to see Coach Johnson hit the ground running and recruiting these players. Lock a couple up in this years class and the momentum will build for next year.
