Saint Mary’s just signed Matthew Van Komem a 7’4” Center from Utah - I believe he is out of high school.

USF's star Charles Minland is in the portal and narrowed his list to 7 INCLUDING BYU and GONZAGA. You don't see intra-conference transfers too often. I wonder if he just wants better odds of going to tourney and more exposure or if he had problems with Todd Golden which would be surprising as Golden seems to be an excellent young coach.

Gonzaga signed #6 player in the 2020 class - Jalen Suggs. Looks like a one-and-done type as he considered playing pro in Europe instead of college.

Pacific got G Jervay Green transfer from Nebraska. Average over 8 ppg as a freshman.
Santa Clara's Trey Wertz is transferring to Notre Dame.
Also, not WCC related, Holland Woods from Portland State is going to Arizona. He was on my PG list that we still need.

The reddit college basketball forum is a decent source of info.
All month they have been doing a virtual NCAA tournament, simulating the games on an old video game.
They just got down to their final four:
Seton Hall, West Virginia, Gonzaga, BYU.
WCC represent...virtually!

Wow, could you only imagine if that had really happened!

That’s the second simulation I’ve seen that put BYU in the Final 4.
Honestly the NCAA should have still created a bracket. For many schools, having tournament selections are program changers. The small schools were virtually done. You could have just awarded the auto bid to the remaining conference winners (like it should be really). Really there were probably only 6 -10 teams that were vying for the bubble. Those 6-10 maybes are no reason to hold up 54-58 teams who would get recognition. Many low and mid majors and others would get a banner. The WCC for instance would have gotten 3 teams in. I’d estimate that for 50% of teams just getting a bid is a huge deal.
The committee already has the majority of the teams picked by that time anyways. They’re only waiting for champ week surprises.

Slb - that would have been nice. Would it deserve a banner on the wall if you were in? “NCAA 2020”?

That should make nbdlion happy. He never did like Bell’s game. Personally, I thought he had some good moments but he’s not what I want for a starter or main rotation player. I’ll dispute nbdlion’s assertion that he isn’t a D1 player. I think his ceiling is at the low to mid D1 range, and that’s not what I want LMU settling for. do think he fits well with Pacific’s tough, physical approach to the game. Anyway, I wish him well in Stockton. The city isn’t much to brag about but I like the school and the Tiger fans.

So safe to say Bell would’ve stayed if Stoudamire was hired...😉
He played hard for two years with us. Good luck, Jordan.

Yes, good luck to Jordan. I was hoping he'd come back. He was a good rebounder and he had moments offensively.

We know how to defend him - just leave him open outside the arc!
